I'm surprised Oklahoma is that high. They're relying a ton on transfer talent and are led by a first-time head coach. I think both will ultimately lead to growing pains that make a top-10 finish unlikely.

Yeah, the Gooners get the benefit of the voters doubt like several [many] of the other P5 programs. Good for Baylor and Oklahoma St. I'll say this, Cincinnati will finish higher than #22 at season's end.

And no mention of Texas perhaps being a bit high? Yes, OU has an unproven coach, but they've gone 86-19 since the inception of the current CFP while Texas has gone 53-46 in the same span. And it's not as though Sarkisian has been a world-beater. His head-coaching record so far with Washington, USC, and now Texas is also a very modest 51-42. Texas already regressed in his first season there to 5-7 from 7-3 the year prior.
He was born in California, played at BYU, had never even coached in the state of Texas before, and is now suddenly expected to turn UT's fortunes around? Yes, they've recruited well, but when do the Longhorns not recruit well?

Good points. Sark doesn't move the needle for me either and I will be surprised if he lasts more than several seasons at Texas. I guess my point is Texas ranked at #18 doesn't seem as much a stretch as Oklahoma at #9 with all the changes in that program. Again, I'm happy for Baylor and Oklahoma State who can really make some noise again this year.

Same story every year. TX starts out high in the polls, but eventually comes back to reality.

I think UC is destined for 15-25 this year, unless they're undefeated again. Much like what happened in 2019.

Not to be "that guy" (although I know I totally am right now) but I think you need to swap NC State and North Carolina in the rankings and others receiving votes. NC State is actually ranked 13 in the preseason poll.

Thanks. Fixed the OP. I cut and pasted the poll from someone else's thread over at the Conference Realignment Board. Serves me right to trust someone else's work LOL.
