Kudos to them if they actually fine the offenders. It will be an uphill battle. Having so many programs and so few that traditionally support basketball means you will have a pretty large caboose weighing down the better programs each year when it comes to computer rankings.

I’d like to see us require more OOC home games. It would also be preferable to limit the number of non-D1 games.

At a bare minimum, we should match whatever the Sun Belt does.

Right now, they're slightly ahead of CUSA in football and way ahead in baseball, but we maintain a solid lead over them in basketball.

If we stand pat while they improve in hoops and close the gap between us, it won't take long for them to leave us in the dust.

I really doubt that. We’ve got some really good basketball schools historically. It’s hard to overcome being bad in a sport for a really long time. ODU brings some decent hoops history but they underperformed in CUSA. Changing the perception will take a long time for the SBC (just like it will for CUSA in football).

RE: Future C-USA Basketball Schedules
C-USA baseball will be very close (SBC will not be "way ahead") if Liberty gets back to a high level. JSU and SHSU have had excellent teams in the past.

The key is to have ZERO bottom dwellers!

WKU has fixed that problem--Now it is up to NMSU to get their baseball going.

Dallas Baptist #11 in the country. La Tech is full of potential and recent history (2021-host, 2022 NCAA). FIU has a new coach and a great location for recruiting local talent.

NO offense to our new members or younger posters--BUT...

you may not be aware of the history (recent history) of other teams in various sports.

I know, I know history does not win games-- but it ofttimes helps programs regain a high level more quickly (Ex. NMSU BB vs SHSU BB).

Another example-- most think of JSU as just FOOTBALL tradition, etc.. JSU was a 2019 BASEBALL NCAA team and defeated Clemson and Illinois before finishing regional runner-up to Ole Miss. ALSO-- JSU went to the NCAA basketball tournament in both 2017 and 2022.

The ebb and flow of schools in various sports accomplishments is difficult to keep up with--especially when leagues are changing members. If not sure--my suggestion is take the time to do a little Google research.

JMHO. We are glad to have all the new members as of July 1st!!

NMSU was in a conference with WKU not that long ago. We are familiar with you. It appears you may not be aware of NMSU as much. We just won the WAC tourney in baseball a whopping one year ago. We also had the national POY the year (yes, national) a few short years ago. I'd put our baseball facilities up against any CUSA school. Our AD is a former NMSU baseball player so baseball is at top of mind for him. While we had a down year this season, I don't expect that to be our new normal.

Correct, Buffalo won the game at Western Kentucky two years ago.
