With the departures, that pretty much killed all my excitement and limits me to watching Memphis only sports. I do think with the cord cutting, ESPN eventually will hit some financial issues. Them suiciding themselves is inevitable.

The g8 need to be proactive and form their own 8 conference league, of course with real playoffs decided on the gridiron and not buy a network controlled selection committee
I am totally onboard with this completely

Works for me brother.
Finally someone agrees with me…
I believe the p2 is afraid of a g8 league and are trying to figure out how to prevent this from happening but this option is closer to front and center than ever before
I think it’s Inevitable imo

The gulf in money may be huge but the gulf between the Top 25 of the G5 and the Top 30 of the P5 in terms of performance is not nearly as big as some make it out to be.

Do you think Memphis is going to get in the P2????? Let those ashholes do their own thing.

Do you know how many outstanding teams are outside of the P2. F them and their G-league.

This is where we're headed anyway so let's embrace it. REAL college football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what your saying is you want your team to be some sort of farm club “ little b!tch” to the pee2 with week money incentives and a promise to be thinly included in their playoffs, been there done that but hey you keep believing…

P2 is building for the causal fans.
the promblem is their way more causal fans than CFB fans.

the NBA did the same thing, every game looks like the globetrotters now.
MLB turned games into home run hitting contest to draw causal fans.

people tell me there "big CFB fans, who in the playoff's"

If espn and fox complete their plan of an NFL.2 consisting of the SEC 20 and the Big 20, I won’t follow that either. I’ll follow the rest of us. ECU In their 50k stadium, Memphis in their 50k Liberty Bowl, BYU in their 60k, UTEP in their 50k Sun Bowl, Colorado St in their 45k etc….Army, Navy, Air Force still a lot of great football tradition with fans who will support their teams! Bring it on espn with your triple A pro league!

I agree completely.

I find the NFL incredibly boring. Even the commentators seem bored by it most of the time.

I also find the P5 increasingly boring. There aren't many P5 vs. P5 games that I would be interested in watching. I can't get excited about any of the matchups, and honestly don't care which teams win any more. It feels, somehow, as if the whole thing is rigged.

However, G5 football is still the college football that I have always loved since childhood. Unlike the P5, it has evolved in a good way. The quality of play in G5 football is about what the quality of play was in P5 football back in the glory days of the sport, and it's a hard scrabble game with no overly-pampered teams and no perpetual top dogs. It's the real thing. P5 football feels artificial - like plastic.

I would gladly watch 80%+ of the G5 games.

Unfortunately, the rest of the US doesn't agree with you. The NFL dominates, I and mean DOMINATES, TV ratings. CFB is a distant second and 80% of that value is driven by about 20-30 programs. Outside of the Olympics, nothing else really competes. Even the NBA, CBB, MLB, and NHL are lagging behind.

It is what it is.
