Undefeated in conference play, but not sure about the game at Arkansas.

Arkansas, on the road, is going to be a daunting challenge for a new QB and a bunch of guys on defense who potentially can be very good, but lack experience. That being said, I think this team will be better by the end of the season than they are at the end of the season. The Bearcats will put a beating on someone in a bowl like they did to BC in 2019.

9-3 but hoping I'm wrong and the 'Cats win them all. I'm told by the father of an upperclassman on this team that this '22 roster may have more raw talent than any Cincinnati team in history. But the experience factor has to be weighed in our expectations.

I have to say, there were always a few cringeworthy moments with Ridder many games but he was, by all estimations, an incredible leader who refused to let his team lose--for two consecutive regular seasons. Those are big shoes to fill for Prater or Bryant. I agree with CliftonAve as well--get this bunch past mid-season and we'll see an incredible victory lap on our final tour through the P6 American.

I'm going 9-3 as well. Too much uncertainty at QB for me.

As great as the Fickell era has been there's been a fair amount of luck / favorable bounces. That being said, backsliding to a 9-3 season plus a bowl win wouldn't be the end of the world.

Yep. We’ll see how this works out, but I could easily see Bryant getting the starting nod to start the season given his experience as a starting QB. Prater is talented, but he is going to have to be significantly more consistent than Ben to get the job coming out of Higher Ground.

People seem to forget than Bryant and Des were neck-and-neck going going into fall camp in 2020.

I’ll say 10-2. Loss at Arkansas and one in conference.

My guess, 9-3. At the Razorbacks, a loss to either Houston or UCF, and a WTF loss somewhere along the line.

UC rides its confidence from last year, along with the five returning offensive linemen and two fantastic tight ends to power run over Arkansas with Kiner and Prater.

Then it is a matter if they can survive the resulting hype and gel as a team that can play defense and throw the ball to go with their running strength. I say they can.

We do not play Houston in the regular season. We do play at SMU though.

Without knowing who we get at QB and what offense will be tailored to the guy under center it's like predicting the Kentucky Derby winner without knowing who the jockeys and trainers are.

Every podcast/web report that I've seen indicates that the two are neck & neck, but that Prater is the better athlete and they believe he'll get the nod. Bryant reminds me a lot of Hayden Moore, especially that game in Memphis a couple years ago. I don't think I could go through another year of that.
