20 game round robin is exciting. I think this is the correct way to go.

Yep, and MT with 5 of top 6 players back, along with our big man who was out due to injury last season
Who?
Big Man ? Jared Coleman-Jones
I might actually be excited about hoops again. MT could be better than last season with Jones fully recovered and the fact that Dishman elected not to retire as we expected he would. If we have a shooter pick up the slack from Jefferson’s graduation, this is going to be a very difficult team play against for 40 min.

But how do you create the conference schedule? You'd think there would be 5 groups of travel partners (say UTEP and UTSA, Rice and UNT, FIU and FAU, and WKU and MTSU seem like obvious groups - but then who is grouped among La Tech, UAB and Charlotte). Maybe Charlotte is the odd one left out. If that's how it shakes down, it seems like they will have a much different schedule than the other teams.
I guess I need to look at how some 11-team conferences that played 20 games last year (the Big East? the MAAC). Some of the other 11-team conferences didn't play 20 game conference schedules. And if you think about it, those two conferences are much closer in proximity than CUSA, so it's a lot easier to play games on different days of the week (less travel involved).
I agree with your travel partner grouping & would assume UAB & Charlotte would be travel partners in that scenario (since both teams are leaving). We also could see WKU and Charlotte as travel partners & keep UAB and MTSU together.

Sounds like that shooter may be our original starting PG (Jordan, prior to pre-season injury) from last year, and Weston taking over PG duties.

Welp, UAB released their non con schedule today and it is... underwhelming. Only one true road game and a slew of low NET home games. If there was a chance for an at-large for UAB, I would say it's over before it started.

They have South Carolina at home and West Virginia away-- other than that a lot of low ranked teams at home. Would need a sweep of the two above to have an at large shot IMO. Maybe they will play WKU next season as a non-conf. game OR dodge us like Marshall.

South Carolina at home may not help much if they are as projected. Torvik has them dropping to 136 this season after finishing around 100 in both Torvik and NET last season.
I dont mean to pick on UAB, it's obvious UNT is having scheduling troubles too. Nobody wants to play a team from CUSA that might be able to beat them. Hopefully Western can pull together a nice schedule.

Been hearing similar woes for WKU this year. Been taking too many P5 scalps lately I guess.

Appears WKU struggling too to fill out schedule. Have to have a few home games and for sure zero P5s want to play us after last few seasons..

I'm not thrilled with the schedule, but it's also not as bad as you are making it out to be. South Carolina just got one of the top recruits in the country. Only Presbyterian and Alabama State were outside the top 250 NET last season. There is hope that USA, Jacksonville, St Joe's and Georgia can be better this year.
My biggest gripe is the tournament we are in had poorly performing teams last year, I was hoping we could get in something better. I also hate the non D1 game. We just don't have a marquee game on paper, so our margin for error is pretty thin.

He was ranked #1 in the country for 2023 and is reclassifying to this year. They will be much better just by his presence alone.

UAB just released the entire schedule. First look at how the conference schedule is laid out.

It's nice to see how the conference schedule is shaped. Hopefully the rest of the schools will release schedules quickly now.

I may be the only one, but that gray/blue color looks awesome. Unique, in a good way.

I think our entire fan base agrees this one is the best thing our AD has put out in a while.
