Marshall Athletics has concluded its time in Conference USA competition. It’s been a topsy-turvy 17 years in the league. A lot of change over that time. But I wanted to say I’ve enjoyed my time in this board, with CUSA fans past and present.

Nothing but the best to everyone here, the schools you support, and all of their athletic programs.

Hopefully, eventually wiser heads prevail and MARSHALL and WKU (Four Hours Apart) are in the same conference or at the very least play often in ALL sports. Salute to the 'HERD!

If you were in the MAC, we'd play you all the time. We always schedule those bastages.

One last go around for a lot of us in Hattiesburg. Will the favorites be there in the end, or will there be surprises? I look forward to it. Good luck to all!

As I've said before, the only teams I can say I'll truly miss in this round of conference realignment is UAB and the Herd. Hope we can see each other again on the field of competition.

A lot was expected of Marshall when they entered CUSA. Some believed Marshall could be a challenger for BCS bowls or NY6 bids, but it never materialized.

Mark me down as one fan that is excited to see Jacksonville State, Liberty, et al take the banner and run with it.

I don't have anything against Marshall - although they didn't exactly leave by their word in the contract.

However, for some of the noise their fanbase makes I expected a little bit more. Their CUSA run contains some real odd occurances - like when their band left a little wagon in their endzone and injured the Houston WR badly.

CUSA belittled itself. Needs no help from us. We will have the distinction of getting CUSA it's only national title in any sport for a long time to come. So, you're welcome. We are one of two teams to win CUSA in both revenue sports while in CUSA. Hint: baseball isn't one of them. Easy to throw around terms like dead weight. Get back to me in a decade when maybe you've accomplished anything at all at this level.

We came to play nice and say goodbye and one of the noobs starts some ****, then complains about us as fans. The fact that you don't see it says everything. To the actual member fans of schools remaining in CUSA have a great ride and enjoy. Sounds like you'll have your hands full with the wannabes and their constant need for validation.

There’s not a single school or conference who would choose Jacksonville St over Marshall.

The 3 leaving the AAC are also leaving before the stipulated terms in their contract so call talk **** about them too. UCONN also left before the terms of their contract. so there's another school you can talk bad about but you only seem to care about the teams that left for the sunbelt early.

clt says go trash the pristine creeks in the lowly sunbelt.

There’s not a single school or conference who would choose Jacksonville St over Marshall.

Marshall = 0 BCS/NY6 Bowls

But for some reason their fans think they are Cincinnati or Boise State.

No one confuses Marshall with the top G5 Universities.

Didn’t you hear they almost beat App State last year and only lost by 25 to WKU.

I certainly wouldn’t put Marshall ahead of WKU or La Tech. Overall both have better athletic programs than Marshall
