Not anything against the West Texas A&M President, but David Street knows things about West Texas A&M’s plans that he doesn’t.

To be fair, DavidSt may have been referring to West Texas A&M's satellite campus inside a Buc-ee's near the New Mexico border

The junior college by me has a better chance of moving to D1 than WTAM does especially with that president. I wouldn’t call d2 the sweet spot though more or so dying if anything

A lot of schools have wanted to reduce the 36/60 football scholarships.

Not sure how much else can be done. The sports sponsorship requirement is only 10, 5/5 or 4/6.

Still remember the old days when West Texas State rb Pistol Pete Pedro was named national player of the week in 1961 after scoring 6 tds vs Texas Western. They were in 2 Sun Bowls winning both vs Cincy and Ohio. Then the Sun Bowl expanded and started inviting brand name schools.

Right now WTA&M sponsors eight for both. Everything in the LSC but tennis.

The LSC has 17 members, 12 are in Texas. That’s not counting the Pacific NW football affiliates, one of which is in Canada.

This is how I feel with Valdosta State. A friend of mine is the cousin of the athletic director and I’ve been told many times over the years that they have no interest in moving up. I’ve mentioned this at different times and still they make every list of move ups that ever comes up.

yeah lol, I called the guy up because I'm trying to talk to a bunch of D-II presidents, and this one wrote a few op-eds about defending the D-II model and pushing for a Texas-centric conference.

Did I share it *here* because of David? Sure, that's part of it. But that isn't why I tried to do the interview in the first place!

What if DavidSt IS the WTAMU president and hired an actor to do the interview and throw everyone off the scent before revealing that they’re going to the MWC?
