At this point, that's a weak looking out of conference schedule.

well Maryland broke its contract with us; we know about VCU and UR. Given the timing of these things, not sure what else could be done this year. Going forward, some creative thinking is going to be necessary. Perhaps a JMU/ODU Invitational, bring in two teams, alternate between H'burg and ORF as site, depending on the year. Not great idea, but I really have no answers after listening to Jeff's podcast. Stupidly ridiculous to schedule anyone decent.

There may have to be some type of Governor's tournament or something created just to get in state teams to play each other out of conference. This is getting ridiculous.

NET, since that is the metric supposedly used by the selection committee. Haven't checked RPI, but I can't imagine it's much better.

ODU has done it alone before including when they were in D2 with the yearly Kiwanis ODU Classic featuring 4 teams including ODU. Indiana came in '71 and defeated ODU 88-86 in the championship game. BYU was in the tournament that year as well. For a while this was a yearly event that ODU played in while they were in D2 that brought in several good D1 teams.

ODU also hosted the Cox Classic at the TED in November 2006 (Monmouth, Arkansas State, Clemson).

Yeah. I really hoped the Cox Classic would get legs and stick around. The women had the Dial Classic too.

You can't have an MTE with 2 teams in the same conference.

This picture has to be photoshopped. I've been told on here that JJ is too lazy to go on the road recruiting.

Not completely forgoing HS recruiting every year. Besides, they talked about the importance of recruiting guys for when they transfer a year or 2 later.
