RE: “NIL” - Good Bad or Ugly
Nick Saban attempted to clarify his comments about Texas A&M and Jackson State on Thursday afternoon.

Even Alabama only has 4 committed recruits for 2023. I've never been a Nick Saban fan but I agree with him on the NLI issue. Unfortunately big money in college football from coaches pay to now player pay has gotten way out of hand.

College football moves from communism to capitalism overnight, chaos ensues

Saban was boasting that his QB broke the million dollar threshold in NIL last year so my sympathy is somewhat muted.

I have no idea if I agree with him or not on this but I can't read Clay Travis' half-literate rambling nonsense.

Spoiler: he agrees with you.

Who pays for the havoc this will wreck and the aftermath on these athletes? The colleges? Nike? The fans who buy merchandise and tickets? Nope. All the poor schlubs who don’t watch football anyway.

Bring back the communism, Clay. Or, one could say it was Marx’s definition of capitalism. In either case, universities shouldn’t operate as corporations and students aren’t meant to be mere employees or consumers. “Collegial” used to mean something…

Clay conveniently left out the part about getting a free education and degree, which to me, was pay.

I reject his communism vs capitalism argument. What we are getting now is a minor league PRO vs college amateur. Yeah, I know that some schools were looking the other way while certain of their players got paid by wealthy boosters.

The NCAA has always been a joke and now more than ever.

Saben's just bitter a former underling has surpassed him. He's done that to others in the passed, Fisher is just the first to have the guts to call him on it publicly.

5 Star recruits might be more distributed to other teams now.

Texas coaches are going to run out of excuses. The Longhorns should've been among the best in the last decade already.

A few years ago Saban said that the more CFB was like the NFL the better.

He of course was talking on the field and not free agency-player movement and money, but he apparently is getting his wish.
