So, which one would you pick?

Black Endzones fade pretty fast. Louisiana had one before switching to red. I’d go with #2 or #3. If I had to pick one, #2.

RE: Choose the turf
I'd have to go black. Marshall has NEVER used gray and the green is too close to the field color. It's pretty much what we have now, and the green faded so fast that there was basically no difference between the endzones and the rest of the field.

#1 HANDS DOWN!!!!! Just have to do a larger kelly green outline of the white "MARSHALL". But that is the bomb. I don't care if it fades quicker. We can paint it if need be... or cover it.

I think #3... it makes me think "Marshall", plus you want to highlight your main color I'd think. I don't like #2 at all...

I never considered fading being an issue, that’s a good point. Then again, the sun doesn’t blaze up here like it does in Louisiana.

Here’s a variant a fan came up with. I think I like it even better...

I don't think the black could fade as badly as the green did in the endzone. The Midfield logo and endzones look like the rest of the field.

I’d go 3 personally. But black turf is a no go here in the Deep South, it may do better in WV.

But we can't really go with green. It just doesn't look good. With all of the pellets in the turf, white would look like doo doo. So it's either natural... which is my second choice... or black end zone with a green "MARSHALL" with a heavy white outline. The pellets generally blend in and help to keep the black dark.

You should try teal. Looks great.

I mean, y’all take back Corona Light bottles full of our sand, airbrushed Tshirts emblazoned with “Myrtle Beach”, and (hermit) crabs, every time y’all come down to visit.

Why not take home a little more “local flavor”? You know you want to…

I think you should go with a black and green striped field personally...

I get the idea behind doing black endzones, but if you're gonna do it, do it with the lettering being green and white outline. I don't like #2 gray endzones and #3 would just be a repeat of what has been done. USM should be updating their field turf within the next couple years; probably put the Golden Eagle emblem on midfield and Southern Miss in the endzones.

We should. IIRC, we didn’t have the new bird yet when the last turf went in and the old bird was either already out or at least too risky to commit to.

I "voted" for the black end zone, but I think a few minor tweaks could've made it look better (like the variant)
If they had used white instead of Grey on the second one, I would've picked that one.

All that said, I'm just excited to be getting new turf and a new conference logo on it

If it fades, can't you just repaint it?

I like #1 if that's the case.

Yep. At that point we weren't even using the Eagle head anymore I think just the Southern Miss logo.

In whatever case, I like the #1 design for Marshall.
