Maybe Protective Stadium will be using cash again, not just cards

I don't know what the solution is, other than to upgrade the internet speed and get point of sale software that moves faster than a racing turtle. You'd think that the various businesses selling there would take care of the slow employee problems on their own.
That's the key. IF they are going to remain cashless, they MUST scrap the current processing system. Having a system that requires pin number entry and signatures is plain stupid for a high capacity setting. The need a system that runs debit cards as credit cards rapidly like Chick-Fil-A uses.

RE: NBR: Garth Brooks will play at Protective Stadium
Just a couple random take-aways from my experience Saturday night:
- The stadium looked amazing full. I kept imagining sitting at a game with it packed.
- I paid $20 at 5:00pm and parked in the Boutwell deck without issue. Took about 30 mins to exit.
- Concessions.... everyone has said it... slow system and slow employees for whatever reason... poor training, inefficient workflow, etc
- Post concert... the "corrals/ropes" for the concession lines were still in place, even though the concessions were closed. This impeded the crowd as everyone exited PS.
- Speaking of corrals, they take up half the concourse when full. I think they'd work better having 1 line that snakes with the next customer going to the next available concession cashier, rather than individual lines for each concession.
- I sat in the endzone at the concert, rather than my section 125 for UAB games. I don't think there's a bad seat in the stadium as far as the view is concerned.
- Most news articles I have read state the attendance as "over 45k" While that is true, it had to be close to, if not more than 60K. 47,100 in the bowl + the entire field.

I agree, I think it was well over 50,000 and maybe even more than 60,000. It was jam packed everywhere.
Except for the concessions, crowd flow seemed to be pretty good. Uber and cabs were very hard to get and very expensive. Surge pricing was over $100 after the show.

an entire article dedicated to bitching when the first two articles state that people had phenomenal things to say about the concert and venue. Negativity sells and captivates.

I parked on 3rd avenue north for free about 2 hours before the concert. Plenty of parking was still available at that time. The walk might have been close to a mile, but it was easy in and easy out that way.
