The officiating had a negative effect on the game for us. If the game was officiated evenly, we win. That is truth.
Second, I understand as a coach and a teacher, you dont want the kids assimilating that. You want the kids focused on what they can control and the mistakes they made that need to be corrected. There were plenty of mistakes that if the kids did not make them, the degree to which the refs f'd the game wouldnt have mattered. Im sure for their benefit he would rather focus on that
Sounded like he had a lot more he wanted to get off his chest.

He complained about all the calls before that, so there's that. We would have won by 15 if they called it the same way as they did for Arkansas.
I'm not surprised at your ref loving interpretation.
You may be right about how things could have turned out if the game were called like the Arkansas game, but I don't think I'm a ref lover. I try to be more of an objective observer. Yea, there were some calls, or lack thereof, that pissed me off, but that happens every game. Complaining about referees and umpires can be habit forming and creates a negative atmosphere for everyone (fans and players). Not only that, but its a loser's mentality to blame the refs rather than focus on other areas of their game that should have been better. Here are the traits as I see them:
Losers: Complain about the refs, point fingers at team mates, b**ch about the coach, say the fan support is lacking, and look for excuses even when there are none.
Winners: None of the above. (Oh, and score more points than the other team, )
That's not true... We complained about the refs in the win over Boise.

- Toppert is leaving and is getting something off his chest that has bugged him for a while, or
- He's playing the "bad cop" to Penny's "good cop", using the media to motivate Malcom, or
- He's the designated hit man to get Malcom "run off", AKA BOH.
I can see Malcom falling into bad habits and getting tired of rehabbing his knee after the injury. Now he has a built-in excuse for half-assing it and not getting in shape for the constant movement required. Let's face it, how many of us have thought (or screamed at the TV) "don't bring the ball down under the basket!" or "stop dribbling into traffic!" when he has the ball. Just like he hasn't taken to the training to correct these issues in all the years he has been playing basketball, he probably didn't go all in to properly rehab his knee. It is hard, grueling work to come back from knee injuries properly and be able to contribute to a team in a meaningful way. Hell, how long did it take Milton at UCF to recover and then play football again after his devastating injury? It was a couple of years, but it can be done - if you really want to.
JMHO
I think it's number 3.
I'ma go with door #1. But former guest is spot on, it has to be one of those options.
I could see CT knowing he's not going to be here next year and just letting it all out. It happens. And I don't disagree with his assessment.
poorly kept secret # 1 BOH

In what way?
In the basketball junky kind of way. Nothing negative really.
They are both male and coaches but other than that nothing else in common in style or personality.

Why would the team that won...
complain about refs
point fingers
complain about the coach
complain about fans
come up with excuses
?
That would be bizarre.

Please extrapolate ---or just tell/give us just ONE example or thing that he knows about the game of basketball that Pastner doesn't
