Dana Drew is the only WBB besides Knuth who had her jersey retired.

Linda Janicki from the early years. She had the office next door forever and used to play in our lunchtime pickup games. First woman HOFer IIRC. Angela Drake, Naama, Inma, Dortch -it’s a long list.

There's a question I have all the data for...

These are who I would consider the undisputed best players in UT history (in no particular order):
Kim Knuth (96-99) All Everything. 2x MAC POY. 2509 pt, 779 rb, 484 as, 368 stl
- Still to me the most dominating player ever to play in the MAC, men or women
Dana Drew (91-95) 2x MAC POY, 1919 pt, 659 as
- Close to all everything
Angela Drake (94-97) 1x MAC POY, 1952 pt, 1087 rb
- Only UT player with 1000+ rebounds
Mimi Olson (94-97) 2144 pt
- Only other player to score 2000+ points
Kim Sekulski (88-91) 2x MAC POY, 1684 pt, 907 reb
- Single game pt record of 42 (now tied with Wiard)
Linda Janicki (81-84) 1477 pt, 989 reb
- First true dominating center for UT
Latoja Harris (91-94) 1x MAC POY, 1466 pt, 833 reb
- 1400+ pts in 3 seasons; UT all-time FG% leader
Naama Shafir (09-13) 1874 pt, 459 rb, 722 as, 227 st
- 4x all-MAC, and of course "She got 40?"
Kaayla McIntire (16-19) 1572 pt, 810 reb, 151 bl
- MAC single-season FG% leader, will be a 1st ballot Varsity-T HOFer

Others that maybe should get consideration:
Jenni Heisler (80-83) 1157 pt
- 1st true star for UT, started before UT was even D1
Mitzi Hallinan (81-84) 1124 pt, 346 st
- Only played three seasons, only Aussie to play for UT
Liz Meiring (83-86) 1435 pt, 869 rb
- Single game rebound record of 22 (now tied with Sammi)
Kelly Savage (87-90) 1677 pt, 640 as
- 1st big time 3FG shooter (3 point line introduced her FR season)
Kahli Carter (97-01) 1258 pt, 649 reb
- led team to the NCAAs her senior season, with 17+ pt/g
Yolanda Richardson (10-13) 1062 pt, 782 reb, 213 bl
- all-time blocked shot leader for UT
Andola Dortch (10-14) 1454 pt, 555 rb, 553 as, 293 st
- arguably the best defensive player in UT history
Inma Zanoguera (12-15) 1424 pt, 781 reb, 375 as, 195 st
- award for the biggest improvement FR-SO season
Mikaela Boyd (15-19) 1212 pt, 779 reb, 430 as, 189 st
- Almost 800 boards for a 5'7 PG is unheard of; Led UT to NCAAs
Mariella Santucci (17-20) 1103 pt, 501 reb, 614 as, 202 st
- Only Rocket to have 1000+ pt, 500+ reb, 600+ assists, 200+ steals

Future adds to the list:
Quinesha Lockett (20-) 1384 pt, 428 rb, 210 as, 146 st
Sophia Wiard (20-) 875 pt, 394 rb, 325 as, 83 st

Not a portal thing, but I'll put it here. I don't know how to post a Tweet, but a guy named Kaden Brown tweeted a thanks to Toledo for an offer. UT Basketball liked the tweet. He's a 6'0" guard.

RE: MAC WBB Transfer Portal: 2022
I had shortchanged Kelly Savage when I first posted, as I was using my spreadsheet, for which I am working my way back in seasons, and I hadn't entered her FR year stats yet (which are all screwed up in the official media data). Corrected now, as she really had 1600+ points and 600+ assists. So, maybe she deserves to be in that 1st group too.

northcoast, I was glad to see you include McIntyre in your list of top players. I have only been watching since the beginning of the Cullop era, so I can't comment on players previous to that. McIntyre brought a lot to the table, including the quickness to effectively defend the pick and roll, which was a huge asset to our defense.

BTW, back to MAC WBB transfers for a minute, I can confirm now that UB's Kaelonn Wilson is in the portal.

Also saw an interesting article on Kent's season (that I can't immediately find the link to), and it mentioned Blackford transferring. Coach Sharkey's comments on that are interesting, he said something to the effect that she will get looks from P6 teams because she is such a great player, but Kent will probably be a better team without her because she wasn't a 3 point shooter and now he can have 5 shooters on the floor all the time. Interesting thing for a coach to say.

Yeah, she was definitely a great 2-way player. And in a decade or 2 past, she would have probably been a 2000 point scorer when UT played a much more up-tempo game.

Having Blackford on the floor definitely made Kent a worse team against UT. Noveroske could guard her effectively, and Blackford couldn't guard Noveroske. Dunn and Thall also couldn't guard Noveroske, but at least Kent would have had mismatches on the other end of the court when Blackford was on the bench. (In fact, Cullop subbed Noveroske out when Blackford left the floor.)

Well, in an interesting twist, Glenville, St who just lost 2 transfers to Buffalo, is signing Toledo transfer Mickayla Perdue. Will be interesting to see how she performs there.

Its amazing that Ingersol tied Savages record for threes in a career but played much more games and needed all of the NIT to catch her.

In Wbb it really is a contrast of styles from decades. Thats almost like throwing for 4000 yards pre 1970s.

Looks like Buffalo adds another, Towson transfer 6'2 F Kiara Johnson. Originally from Buffalo, spent 2 seasons at EMU before transferring to Towson. Didn't appear to play this year for unknown (to me) reasons. Was a bit player at EMU averaging 4 points.

Deuce tied Savage's season record for threes, at 96, but she's waay behind Savage for career threes. She had an amazing senior season, but is only 7th all-time in career made threes.

1. Savage 273
2. Olson 268
3. Bravo-Harriott 245
4. J Williams 234
5T. Risinger, Bishop 182
7. Ingersoll 176
8. Walker 175
9T. Knuth, Drew 163

Knuth #1 in career 3pt percentage, at 42.6%
Interestingly, Sophia Wiard is tied for 5th best all-time with Courtney Risinger at 37.8%

RE: MAC WBB Transfer Portal: 2022
CMU finally adds a transfer (was beginning to wonder if they were going to have enough players to field a team next year.

6'2 Nadege Jean. Originally from Richton Park, IL, she was on the DePaul roster from 2018-19 to 2020-21, redshirting on year, playing very few spot minutes the other 2. She was not on the DePaul roster this past season, as the their preseason guide says she transferred before the season started, but I can't find evidence that she did, so not sure what her status was last year. So, not sure how many years eligibility she still has.

Sophia Wiard (20-) 875 pt, 394 rb, 325 as, 83 st

so, somewhere you need to have, not just kim, but the sekulski twins. kim and karen from devilbiss.
kim, noted above, was an instant starter as a freshman while karen took a redshirt. but as a pair, they were much of the core of the best rocket women's teams of all time. the 88-89 through 91-92 teams which were WNIT 2nd and 3rd place and NCAA 2nd round teams. kim was the top inside and mid range scorer and 1st in rebounds for those seasons and, yes, set the still standing school scoring record at home in a big win over bg, 42 points, while karen was a key reserve. in the '91 ncaa upset blowout at rutgers in the 1st round they combined for 17 rebounds. kim had 18 and 6 in the colossul 81-80 near-upset at UConn. when kim graduated karen took her place in the starting lineup as a rs sr and played the same role averaging 12 and 7 for, perhaps, the best rockets team ever in 1991-92. they won 14 straight mostly blowout games to end the year-starting sophs latoja harris and dana drew, with seniors lecretia legault, jane roman, karen sekulski. a lineup in which every starter averaged at least 11.7 ppg. they won at providence in the 92 ncaas by 10. karen sekulski had 15 and 7.

So, while Kim was a probably not the top individual player in UT history, even though she went for 15.5, 14.5 and 16.8 on great teams and was a fan favorite, maybe 2nd with the hometown bias. but as a pair, as twins, they bookend the greatest stretch in UT hoops. i know it's 2 against 1, but that's my vote.

Interesting take, pono. Yes, Karen was a heck of a player too, and contributed 825 pt & 637 reb in her 4 years. And, in a strange coincidence, combined they scored the exact same amount as Kim Knuth did - 2509.

The Sekulski's were one of two sets of twins to play for UT. Anybody remember the other?

I also wanted to mention a few players that would probably made the list based on career stats if they had played all 4 years at UT:

Jane Roman
(90-92) 1029 pt, 366 as, 157 st, in 3 seasons
- Played 1 year at Rice before coming back to play near home at UT. Also became a UT assistant coach. Played/coached on 5 NCAA teams.
Melantha Herron (01-02) 727 pt, 416 rb, 56 bl, in 2 seasons
- The best JUCO transfer in UT history, coming here from Western Nebraska (originally from Colorado)
Tanika Mays (09-10) 846 pt, 426 rb, 121 st in 2 seasons
- Came to UT from IUPUI. Sat out Ehlen's last year as a transfer, and really sparked Cullop's 1st 2 seasons.
Brenae Harris (15-16) 766 pt, 277 rb, 250 as in 2 seasons
- Came to UT from Michigan, originally from Mansfield. Had only triple-double in UT history, and a career high 39 pt

Ball State has added a late '22 international player in Hana Mühl, 5'7 CG from Zagreb, Croatia. Her older sister Nika plays for UConn. She had been committed to Illinois, but decommitted after the coaching change there.
