Okay, so Donald is special. There is nothing about him that doesn't have some four-dimensional-chess angle that doubters like me are incapable of understanding. Let's go with that - - he, more than anyone else, is what this nation needs to restore order.

The problem is that he still has to win in 2024 to make that work. Unquestionably great man that he is, do you honestly think he has a good (or even fair) chance of winning in 2024? I don't. And I am not alone. This is a comment posted to the WSJ, responding to one of mine (we post under our real names there, which I've redacted here):

Quote: I am disappointed in Biden, but I will never vote for Trump or any of his minions. Trump is a terrible person. His minions seem to be a loathsome mix of terrible, opportunistic, or unhinged people.
***
You're right that if the Republicans backed away from Trump and the lunatics, they'd win landslide victories. They won't though. I think long-term prospects are better for the Democrats, because although they're currently catering to the woke mob, it hasn't absorbed them the way Trumpism has absorbed the Republican party, and I think Democrats are starting to get the message that wokeness is poison. I think you'll see them slowly stepping back from that ledge before the Republicans pull back from Trump, and the Democrats will get attendant gains while doing so.

You can be a scornful as you wish over this posted opinion. I don't think much of it. But this post is not a one-off. There are lots who are so turned off by Donald Trump that they will not vote for him under any circumstances. That is an issue, even if he happens to be the brightest lightbulb in the outthouse.

Adopted, you may be correct that Trump is thin skinned and is hated to the point he is unelectable. But as many have listed, the amount of coordination between Hillary’s apparatus, the Federal alphabet agencies, the Democrat party marching lockstep and the MSM a full participant………how would you react, hell - how would anyone react.

Trump wasn’t a party insider, and the above did everything in their power to destroy him and his family every day he was in office.

It’s easy and I’m tempted to believe that a DeSantis would be a better choice, but I assume the same deceitful groups above will coordinate and try and destroy him as well.

Bottom line, the whole Washington establishment needs to be removed from power and replaced, but I’m pretty sure they won’t leave in an electoral fashion (they have it rigged to prevent it) so the only way to remove them is with violence. The American people aren’t there yet…….

Yep. I hold almost as much contempt for Lindsey Graham, Mitt and McConnell as I do for Democrats……

It is always a challenge to respond to you, shere khan, since you never offer anything substantive in support of your posts - - just over-wrought name calling. Here’s my attempted response, for which I admit upfront does not apply to most Trump fans. It just applies those like you who think that a differing view makes someone your enemy:

For most right-thinking Americans, the interests of the nation come first. There is room to debate priorities among conservative policies. For one example, people on the right can differ on whether cultural issues should take precedence over economic concerns. But that does not make the other person your enemy. It just means that there is room to debate the relative priorities.

For Donald Trump, and his shere kahn toadies, that is not the case. The litmus test is loyalty to the Donald. Example number two: for the Trump brigade, winning the Georgia senatorial runoff elections in 2020 was subordinate to insisting on proving the unprovable (at least at that moment) with regard to election fraud. The personal insult to the the Donald’s fragile ego was more important than the need to hold the Republican majority in the Senate.

For most Republicans/conservatives, Donald Trump is not the enemy. He is someone who would be a welcome ally in the all-important fight against progressivism, so long as he doesn’t insist on wrecking things if he doesn’t get his way. For the shere khan Trumpists, establishment Republicans are not allies. They are the enemy, every bit as bad as progressives.

I think its pretty clear these days that the majority of Washington Republicans are grossly corrupt swamp creatures and do not really care about their constituents.

All they do is give lip service to conservative concerns, fill their pockets with Chinese and American corporate money, and then slow walk the same basic polices the progressive left fights for.

Conservatives are quite justified in their contempt for them.

RE: for A. Monarch and any other never trumpeter....
I'm late to this thread, but the way I see this is the most evil thing we have going on with our government is how thoroughly compromised our elected officials are when you look at everything objectively. I also see that the unelected people who are in charge of the various departments in the executive branch seemed to have put together a hidden gov't to elevate or diminish elected officials based on the goals of said officials to promote or attempt to dismantle gov't authority. Despite the many flaws of Donald Trump, I have to support him if only because his actions showed me that he wanted to remove foreign and corporate influence from the legislative branch and he wanted our foreign policy to benefit America as much as possible.

Regarding my second point on international politics, it's blatantly obvious that by their ACTIONS the Biden administration and the Democrat leaders currently in charge in the legislature do NOT have the interests of the American people as their primary concern. To make us global citizens (assuming no semblance of Federalism would exist within the framework), it's critical that we all become equal in both opportunity and outcomes. That would require American citizens to have lowered standards of living than we enjoy today in order to elevate other parts of the world. It's obscene for American politicians and our government to strive for these goals.

Don't be deceived by the D vs R dynamic that is playing out. While I do believe that the subsurface relationship between the D leadership and R leadership is damaged, it's still much stronger than the public relationship we see in the press and online. Trump was fighting against both sides for us. It doesn't mean he's altruistic by any stretch - there is some carrot for him in doing this. However, his vision is much better IMHO than the vision we are getting from almost all the Dems (save Gabbard, Sinema and Manchin) and those GOP'ers who are globalists.

You really hit it out of the park on this post. I would give you a +500 if I could.

And I can't stress enough the comment about how blatantly obvious it is the Biden administration and left (and I would add the legacy media) DO NOT have the interests of the America people in mind for their policies both domestically and in foreign affairs.

In fact many of their polices specifically target and damage the American people on multiple levels, particularly the middle and lower classes. Its a conscious and necessary move to get their global agenda across.

They ooze disdain for the average American and our concerns & views. They hate us and see us as the problem that holds them back from fulfilling their agenda. We are the biggest roadblock they have to deal with in their eyes.

Points for your both. These posts show how to make a persuasive argument - - when I find myself nodding my head in agreement with the particular points you argue, even if I disagree with the bottom-line conclusion.

Bottom line, the Democrats in power are pushing the globalist agenda to the detriment of America and its people. Every decision they make is designed to weaken America.

Far too many of the Republicans in Washington are no more than bought off opposition. They are bought off to squawk, but never really do much and for enough to eventually knuckle under. This latest pork filled 1.5 trillion spending bill is a perfect example. It has spending earmarked for foreign countries border protection, but none for the US and in an inflationary period will do nothing but push more inflation. 18 Republicans crossed over and voted for it in the middle of the night………

The same small group of wealthy people are buying off both sides and their wishes are to the detriment of the American people….

I do need to set the record straight. I have no doubt that Donald John Trump has character flaws, and in no way do I consider those flaws to be strengths. Any comment that I have made that you have interpreted otherwise was either poorly stated by me or badly misinterpreted by you.

But I look at the alternatives. In the last presidential election there were two viable ones--Trump and Biden. And I will take the flawed Trump over the equally or more flawed Biden any day of the week, not to mention Kamala the ****, who is simply devoid of anything remotely approaching a moral compass.

The enemy of my enemies is my friend. That's as far as I am willing to go. I just wish my enemies had better enemies.

Spot on. I baffles me why everyday Americans can't see this. I guess they would rather listen to Regressive Party propaganda than actually understand the truth. The left primarily in Government and a number of Republicans simply don't care about America or Americans. It unfortunately is really as simple as you just explained it.

The leftists make this terribly flawed assumption that anyone who votes for Donald John Trump worships the man. Can you get it through your thick heads the the democrat alternatives are all so godawful that even a flawed Trump is a far better choice.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I wish my enemies had better enemies, but at the end of the day I will take what I can get.

for A. Monarch and any other never trumpeter....
Good grief.

Anyone being moderately objective can’t look at 16-20, compare it to this current schit show and not say I’d like my 2018 back.

Why is this so hard for some and it MUST be an undying “love” of all things The Donald?

Mind boggling
