20.3 wins a season. That's only 0.8 wins better than the coach he replace and 2 less conference championship. And if we are being honest the 27 win season would be at best 17 if not for the Harper recruit. So on Stansbury's recruiting and his players....

18.6 wins a season. But when you look at it the recruiting was smoke and mirrors because most of the highly recruited players never played a minute for Western and a couple more that played 1 season and got out quickly.

Glad he is staying at WKU. You deserve each other.

In the middle of our AD search last year to replace Mohajir, the interim running the Athletic Department at the time managed to silently give the baseball coach a 3 year extension despite the fact the contract wasn't up for 6 months.

To this day, we never officially acknowledged it in a press release. It only became public because the incoming AD didn't approve of the extension and didn't appreciate not being consulted. That interim AD no longer works here.

Um you just posted yesterday on home board. If we accept what Rick has given us than we are no better than Morehead St. I guess that’s acceptable to you but it’s not to most WKU fans who clearly see the writing on the wall. Preseason Frisco Rick is a joke. In 9 CUSA tournament games his teams have shot 27% from 3 in CUSA tournament. First thing he says after Thursday night loss was bitching about WKU not getting a shoot around. Didn’t seem to effect UAB. He is a absolute joke and the absolute summary of his career at WKU was in last years title game. Down 17-0 vs a team playing 4 games in 4 days. He does nothing to motivate our players, he moves like a snail and our players take after him. 0 alpha dogs, 0 meaness streak to them and just give excuse when things does not go their way. You can continue rooting for a guy who zero shot to do anything while I refuse to think WKU cannot for better than Preseason Rick..His Country schitk has run its course with most WKU fans..

As far as your first comment in this thread...

if players did not miss shots a coach would win them all. Also you point out Western's weakness against Tech in the last 3:37. Yet Tech went almost 7 minutes when they had the lead and only scored 4 more points and a ton of turn overs. If you are going to play the "what if" What if Tech was 1/10 of a second quicker on the 3 point shot that went in? They go up 5 and Western probably fades away.

Sounds like a big bag of excuses...you either win or its a loss there are no what ifs because you can play that game from the tip. What if a player cut to the basket instead of away. Might have had a easy score...

Sorry but I had no intention in playing the what if game at all. I played sports all my life (well till I was 37). Very competitive. I was trying to point out that not all loses can b laid at the coaches feet. We played good defense for most of the game and hustled our asses off. Our offense which normally carries us broke down. 2pt, 3 pt and free throw shooting took the night off at the wrong time. Part of that was due to La. Tech but most definitely not all of it. How many times have we missed 6-7 free throws. I think we finished 12-19. That means we were 11-12 till then. One of the thing I've always loved about WKU teams is that we never quit. To me I guess that's my defining point. Always give it all u got and never give up. U do those 2 things and I'll never said a negative word.
Also tho I think the 1971 team was WKU's best ever team the Courtney Lee led team was Damn good plus a few others. Been going to games since 1969 so I've seen a few good teams.

Hi, that’s not true. There is a poll on the WKU basketball group page and at last check 127 voted to keep Stansbury for at least another year or more. Only 47 voted to fire. I would assume that is the most representative poll out there. Sorry, but you are just flat wrong.

People that believe a message board or twitter or Facebook makes up the majority is part of whats wrong in the world today...

its only the loudest people and that 174 people are 0.0232 percent of a full Diddle arena. But that 7500 only makes up a small part of "fans" since most never get off their couch (most likely 85% of those 174) to attend games. I'm going to assume Western has at least double the record attendance for football....

So that 174 is now 0.00348 But since thats most likely the only poll out there, you might be correct on your assumption. But its 0.00348 of the Western fanbase.

A larger sample and more importantly are the 50+% of expensive seats that are empty for most home games.

Feel good about it. You could haves dreamed you hired our coach who’ve some reason we kept after going 7-26 this season.
