W&M has the longest current FCS winning streak -- 25 games over VMI. It is the second longest all time in the FCS.

One of our few great HBs. Looks like a DE. When we need 3 yards in a cloud of dust…

Stable of Imoh, Lucas, Yoder, Lester, Kendrick, Lasore, and TFr Perkins is probably the best RB group in the 30+ years I’ve followed Tribe Football. Wonder if we’ll see two HB sets this year. With a less-established OL, we could probably use a couple guys to run some swing, flare, and shoot routes.

Two back sets were part of the arsenal last season. Watch the deep back on this play destroy the left DE from Albany springing Wilson for a big gain. The RB is Martin Lucas and the DE is Jared Verse who is now at Florida State.

RE: 2022 Tribe Football
Tribe opponent Campbell was voted second in the Big South preseason poll, only losing votes to NC A&T, who got 6 first place votes over Campbell’s 2.

Campbell’s Brevin Allen was voted preseason DPOY.

Along with their QB being first team big south, who missed 7 games last season to injury.

Other non FBS OOC opponent Lafayette, was voted 4th in the Patriot League preseason poll, had edge rusher Malik Hamm voted preseason DPOY, but only had 2 players on preseason teams.

Glad to get Campbell and their #1 2022 FCS recruiting class in the country early in the season.

They got 1 4* and 13 or so 3*’s, lol.

That four star though, funny enough, was committed to Arkansas around this time last year. Wonder what happened.

Also, was watching Big South media day, and Campbell HC Mike Minter said he will be playing instantly, as if it wasn’t obvious.

RE: 2022 Tribe Football
I would expect Campbell's QB who finished 2nd in the Big South OPOY vote, to actually win it, if he is able to stay healthy, unlike last year.

They, also, picked up a 4 star and three 3 star transfers.

Their matchup 90 minutes down the road at ECU, the weekend after us, will be interesting.

I wonder what's going on down there to get a sudden boost in recruiting? Their coach has been there for 9 seasons and they've never really had a lot of success.

I've been to their campus, Buies Creek makes Williamsburg look like a metropolis.

Campbell started playing football again a decade or so ago and, I think, started offering scholarships when they joined the Big South just a few years back. Very passionate coach, lack of established talent, and a small private school with not-so-good academic reputation is a great recipe for luring transfers.

.....and there is absolutely nothing else to do in Buies Creek other than go to school and play football. Its in the middle of nowhere half way between Raleigh and Fayetteville. When we played against them in the 80s it was a dry county too.

Fate is certainly in our hands with Villanova, Delaware, Rhode Island and Elon, all, at home in Zable.

Interesting that both Yoder and Imoh got love at RB, but I thought that Lester was our best RB last year when he was healthy. It just seemed like our offense went down hill the moment that he got hurt.

2022 CAA Preseason Coaches Poll:
1. Villanova (16)
2. Delaware (7)
3. Rhode Island
4. Richmond
5. William & Mary (2)
6. Elon (1)
7. Stony Brook
8. Maine
9. New Hampshire
10. Monmouth
11. Towson
12. UAlbany
13. Hampton

Not uncommon, but I think it's interesting that we were picked 5th but had the 3rd most number 1 votes. Means a lot of CAA coaches undervalue the Tribes chances of contending.

I can see Nova and UD, but UR and Rhody shouldn’t be ahead of us.

Completely agree. Lester was the straw that stirred the drink last year. Also thought it was wild that Monmouth’s QB was voted in at QB with Nolan Henderson returning at UD and Monmouth being new to the conference.

I think this is playoff year for the Tribe. Will be interesting.
