Tech goes on a 19-3 run and takes a 21-13 lead into halftime.

UNT is awful on offense so far today.

I would obviously rather play La Tech - we didn't blow them out, but we've beaten them by significant margins twice and they will be very tired.

I tend to agree. It also will obviously be less of a home court advantage for Tech than UNT.

That's a good point too.

Lofton will have to be gassed if they win. He's already sat out like half of this game.

This may get ugly if UNT can’t get any offense going in the next possession or two.

A win today is far from guaranteed. Team has to keep their eyes on MTSU.

Lowest scoring game all season. North Texas and their slow tempo style have set college basketball back 50 years.

That’s a given. We will win by 18. And it will never be in any doubt.

And there goes any sliver of a chance for a 2 bid CUSA.
I could have seen a very small chance of UNT getting looked at for an at large if we had beaten UNT by 6 or less in the Championship. Not anymore.

Pretty damn close. It's a shame UNT won't be in the Dance. They are a very good team.

Hard to have a slow tempo with a 30 second shot clock. 24% shooting and 17%(3pt) is more likely the reason. I didn't see the game but I've believe game scores in general would INCREASE if the clock were 45 seconds. There would be better shot selections, more movement to work toward higher percentage shots, and no rush to throw up crap as time expired.

We have the stats on this. Scoring was a little over eight points per game lower in the 10 seasons before it went from 35-30 than it has averaged since.
Besides the increased number of possessions a lower clock generates, it also results in more 3 point attempts and a greater emphasis on recruiting those who can hit it

.

About to tip. MTSU will once again be without their best player. This game lines up perfect for us. They don't have their best player, they had a grueling OT game late last night, we destroyed them the only time we played them this season. Unfortunately, rarely does anything come easy to this UAB team so I expect a close game.
