That's a great point, and unique to Alaska. I would imagine the land belongs to their DII programs to start and likely gets lost in a exhibition with a DI school, but your guess is as good as mine.

RE: We Have Land Again!
It is interesting.
But why do we not own our own land, with a 2-game home win-streak?
How would we reclaim it?

EDIT: Now that I think about it, home wins don't matter. We lost it with our 1st loss and it is passed around from there. We would only get it back by beating the team, who beat the team, who beat the team, etc...who beat ISU after our loss to them.

Sounds like you must live near Crescent City. Spent a bit of time on the coast there, among the redwoods, several years ago. Beautiful country you have. Still remember the barking sea lions in the harbor, and some of the best smoked salmon I've ever eaten was from the Native Americans who fish the Klamath River.

Good times...

I live on the West slope of Mt Shasta in siskiyou county

I see it looming large out my kitchen window. Oregon is from the deck

Ah, Shasta. Impressive the way it dominates the landscape, classic stratovolcano shape too. Unfortunately we didn't have time to stop, though we very much enjoyed traveling through Lassen on the way to Yosemite.

We won't be going all the way out to California this year, stopping short to wander through Arizona and Utah, but we absolutely have it on the short list to get back. Hard to beat Northern Cali. You truly live in an amazing part of the country.

I used to travel to Klamath Falls. Flew right into the town via Alaska Air. Landed next to the F-15s on the runway. Crater Lake is beautiful and you can see Shasta from everywhere.

Exactly! That's how it works.

I wish we had time to stop at Crater Lake. We came from the Olympics in Washington straight to the coastal redwoods region, but it was a very tight schedule that year. I cannot stress enough how beautiful it is in that part of the country.

Flying Alaska Air before 9/11, the pilot sometimes would make a figure-8 around Crater Lake so we all could see it. I drove up there one time in about 6 feet of snow.

RE: We Have Land Again!
the ugliest orange ever smh

A cousin that grew up across the street from me in Memphis dropped in my store unexpectedly last week --I hadn't seen him in 15 years. He was wearing the ugliest orange colored sweat pants I had ever seen....which turned out to be UTK.

He said he'd gone to a lot of trouble to find the real color orange vol ones. God those are ugly I said accidentally. He thought I was kidding.

I’ve heard of skin diseases that color in the experimental labs of communist countries.

The guy over on cbb over on reddit has been doing this for years just for entertainment purposes. It's a fun little hobby and he updates it very often. I forget who last years winner was, but it's early.

Wouldn't the winner be the winner of the NCAA tourney - so Baylor? They would have effectively captured every conference champions land.

But now that I think about, we would have captured a lot of land marching through the NIT last year. So the final map was probably all Baylor and Memphis.

I'm somewhat out of pocket due to having no signal or very poor signal most of the time for the next few weeks, but I will try to update this when I can. So without further ado...
