RE: Is this the 1st time that UAB has had a home game scheduled on Classic weekend?
No matter what happens, if those schools are SBC or CUSA next season, the ultimate loser is CUSA. After this season, the SBC could just decide not to schedule the CUSA5, ever. And any chance those schools had to ever move to/back to the SBC is probably gone. The AAC6 and incoming 4 have nothing to do with this since none of you have voting power.

RE: Is this the 1st time that UAB has had a home game scheduled on Classic weekend?
Understood, but if this is the case, I’m much more likely to not buy season tickets. I do not have unlimited money to spend on something that could be avoided by reworking a conference schedule, so I will buy single game tickets to the four games and call it a day. By nature of them suing for damages and fan “anger” as you say, it would likely mean no prorated season tickets either. We already got shafted one home game and hosted five in 2021 and only had four in 2020. Seems like we’d want to maybeeeeee have our 6 home games for once. Or maybe we will have to wait out a third season of missing home games to prove a point. Current iteration AAC seems to handle 11 teams just fine. Don’t know why we can’t make it work for one season and then shut the door on this nightmare chapter in CUSA
Edit: the post I replied to was deleted I guess before I finished replying. Oh well

You aren’t going to miss out on any games. You will still have four conference home games (plus Alabama A&M and Georgia Southern) after the schedule is reworked for eleven schools.

Was in response to someone saying they had knowledge that the athletic department stance was to remain with USM and Marshall as scheduled and sue separately due to losses revenue and fan/booster anger. We’re going to remain that way out “on principle.”

Yeah sorry about that. I deleted it because I didn't hear it first hand, but through the grapevine.
That said, I believe this will be worked out before fall in some form or fashion and the possibility of not having a game or two is really small. The supposed UAB stance is likely from the very fact that UAB is not a party to any of this by the fact we are eventually leaving as well, but could still be harmed by the fallout.

CUSA will cave. There is no way this bodes well for the conference or it’s future hopes. Hell, TV contract negotiations are coming soon and this tomfoolery, along with losing your marquee programs, could mean CUSA.TV for everyone

You are definitely right about at least one part of that … UA lawyers will definitely not be afraid to sue some folks.

RE: Is this the 1st time that UAB has had a home game scheduled on Classic weekend?
Best I can tell, and all I have is message board rumors, is the SBC3 tried to discuss this with CUSA officials, but CUSA officials ghosted the SBC3. Can’t negotiate when one side won’t return your phone call. Although that is a tactic as well. CUSA has no interest in letting them go, so why sit at the table and get baited into giving the SBC3 an out. Just mail them a copy of the contract every other day.
Ultimately, it’s bad business by CUSA and the SBC3, CUSA will get the worse side of it even after it’s done I believe. The CUSA5 need to look at the bigger picture and ever expect to rescued from what CUSA is becoming, you’d think they would want to play nice with the SBC. There will be more movement, at some point the AAC will backfill with SBC teams and the SBC will be in the market again for teams.
