Ryan is a clear cut nba player period! It’s just a matter of draft position at this point, nba teams draft mostly on potential. Ryan already has great size and frame for a guard. Can you imagine him in about two years with about 15 more pounds and getting nba training??? I’m also hearing his position at the next level could be point guard which could be a matchup nightmare, ryan has a chance to be a Toledo legend and one of the better mac players in recent memory. Pono do you know who the last MAC player selected in the first round of the nba draft????

Rollins is the real deal for sure, I have not seen a MAC player in recent history with more NBA potential. He has the quicks, hops, handles the ball and is a very good shooter. You pull him out the Rocket's lineup and they are a .500 team, he is that good.

He is only 20 years old and unlike many MAC Players of the Year, he has plenty of time/room to improve his physique and his skills. I would bet on him being the next MAC player to be drafted. That said, if I were him, I'm gone to a P6 program next year, this guy is no Marreon Jackson.
Look at the NBA most of the stars who are not overseas guys or 1 n done Zion or Lamelo prodigies were mid major guys. Steph, Dame Lillard, Van Vleet, Ja Morant, Kawhi, Paul George, etc.., all mid major guys. I can’t think of any guys who transferred up to P6 and became NBA stars. The numbers say that if you want to stay in college to develop your game, it’s better to do it at the mid major level.

UOfToledo fans - congratulations on giving EMU a good spanking on Tuesday. All of your guards were bigger, stronger and better skilled than EMU guards excluding Noah Farrakhan (skill only). I never thought Tod K was that good of a coach but I enjoyed watching Toledo on offense and how you exploited EMUs smaller guards by backing them into the paint or getting into the paint and scoring.

I’m surprised that Toledo does so well since there is not much size on your team. I’m not convinced Shumate is a star just yet because many times EMU left him wide open. However maybe he is as the season plays out.

Is Ryan Rollins a pro? I would say he has really good potential to play in the NBA because he’s 19 and can continue to develop. I thought Spottsville did a great job defending him and drew two charges (one called). He’s your go to player but has a lot of help as he is surrounded by good players. I’m not sure Ryan is a PG at the next level? Comparing him to Farrakhan, I believe Ryan’s handles are not as good. Ryan is a better overall player than Farrakhan but both are competitive and I hope to see some battles between them next year. Will Ryan transfer out of Toledo? I hope not and agree with all of Toledo it doesn’t make sense to do so. There’s only one reason why a mid major may consider transferring up as highlighted by the recent NIL deal UofM player received:

https://www.si.com/college/michigan/.amp...rnes-arico

NIL may ruin mid major sports. Good luck the rest of the way and I look forward to watching Toledo vs Ohio in MAC finals.

Lucky you nailed it!

Shumate is a good player, but he is GREAT when he plays with Ryan Rollins. Rollins is the absolutely best NBA prospect I have seen in the MAC in the last ten years. His kind of talent elevates everyone on the U-T roster due to the defensive attention he gets.

Shumate and Farrakhan are at best bit players for U-M, the NIL money source you mentioned. Ryan, however, would likely be a starter or at least in the first eight. I want him to stay in the MAC, he could elevate the conference as he does his teammates. Unfortunately, he would be better served to grab some NIL money and showcase his skills against P6 competition.
