Best Moments at Trask
Back in Trask's early days (70s) ezu came to town with a guard (Blue Edward's-I think). He had recently been involved somehow with the theft of a/some boom box(es) at ezu. In the first half he went off - scoring wise. Everyone in Trask wondered just how we'd stop him in the second half. When he came out of the locker room after half-time he was greeted by our Seahawk with a huge inflatable boom box (used for advertising) on his shoulder. The Hawk danced around the guy making sure he saw the box. He cooled off substantially in the second half. Folks that witnessed all this were "convinced" Edwards' mind was on boom boxes more than basketball.
Whatever the reason for his poor second half fans loved the Seahawk's move.

Not sure.

It's now the "holy grail" of college basketball. Perhaps a Seahawk Crusade can be formed to find it and wield it's power against future opponents.

RE: Best Moments at Trask
You guys kill me a lot of the time.

I can’t understand why that TJ Carter game-winner over us was such a seminal moment.

It was our first year in the league and we weren’t (and didn’t) supposed to finish in the top 4 of the league. Yes, it was a loud, boisterous crowd watching online, but it was a frustrating, ugly game that ended in the 40’s. UNCW was supposed to be good and you were. JJB was having a great season but it was his only game playing there.

What was so touching about it?

Must be hard being the only NU basketball fan. Let me help you understand how it works. Keep in mind, UNCW only lost ONE home game that season. So, with that kind of home record on the line, keep in mind the following:

1. Any buzzer beater at home against any opponent really (regardless of how ugly the game was) is always going to be appreciated and remembered by a fan base.

2. JJB was a very good ball player, as evident by his career in the NBA to include a huge game he had against the Lakers to get to the Finals and win a NBA championship.

3. JJB was also an emotional biatch of sorts, and any time fans can get in the head of the star player of an opposing team (especially as good as JJB was), it's a lot of fun.

Good luck the rest of the way. I'm truly hoping NU gets at least one conference win before the tournament. 07-coffee3

Homecoming during maybe the best season in school history. 2006 was the year George Mason made it to the final four and it should have been us.

The king of NU cheap shots with his 2 cents.

I get some of the other games others have mentioned, like Robinson and Navy or EZU games. Those and some others were traditional and original CAA members. So I can clearly see why those games many hold near and dear.

But spare me the JJB NBA stuff. None of y’all thought for a minute you were beating a future NBA player. Looking at it after the fact is really pointless IMO.

Again you guys can have the memory, I’m just curious why y’all always bring it up everytime someone mentions JJB on your boards.

RE: Best Moments at Trask
The better question: Why do you care enough to show up any time someone mentions NU here in a remotely negative light? Instead of b*tching about NU's inclusion, I would think you'd feel a tad honored that one of the great moments in the 45+ years of basketball games in this building included Northeastern, no?

We mentioned a lot of great moments in this thread. The title of the thread is "Best Moments at Trask" and that was one of them. JJB was a hated player and, as B Hawk mentioned, a buzzer beater in a great environment is a lot of fun, no matter how ugly the game had been up to that point. It was the most memorable regular season game involving NU to date, at least that I can recall. I don't think it's relevant at all that Northeastern was in their first year in the league or where they were picked to finish. NU ended up having a good year that season, and they're still in the league now, aren't they?

If it had been a buzzer beater on homecoming of a great season against any other CAA opponent, it would be getting a mention here as well. No one here cares enough about NU to truly be a "hater" of NU. You just have rabbit ears and seem to think everybody is always out to get your school. We aren't.

“The king of NU cheap shots” lmao. Should I add that to my tag line?

Nah, I don’t care that much about NU.

You would MAYBE have a point if we ever ventured over to your board and brought up the only significant game ever played between our schools. But we’ll… we don’t. We keep to ourselves and enjoy fun memories.

Enjoy the rest of your regular season.

Love always,

- The king of NU cheap shots.

So the only time I ever post on your board is to complain or have rabbit ears about NU? I’ve never posted about other topics or congratulated UNCW winning a conference championship in hoops or baseball, even if it was at NU’s expense? I’ve never shared a laugh with something you guys have posted?

I’m taken aback by the bitching label. I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to comment about NU or the like on your board.

Listen, I get your bitching about how you want out of this piss pour league but don’t take it out on me. All I did was ask a question why? The answers were mostly valid and I’ve left it at that after my last comment… while having some fun with B_Hawk06.

Carry on…

Is it all you do? No. But I’d say it’s a common occurrence for you, yes. And in this occasion it wasn’t even warranted for you to get miffed. The NU mention wasn’t really even in a negative light except for the jab at JJB.

Put it this way: UNCW played NU twice this week, but the only time you chose to post was to complain about a mention of a game played by the 2 schools 16 years ago, lol.

Oh trust me, people notice your tone of complaining even if you don’t. I’m just the only one to point it out because I’m an a$$hole from the northeast, and most of this board consists of polite southerners.
