But Biden has done nothing about it. Rarely even mentions it, pretends like it doesn't exist. So in that regard he deserves blame. It's the same logic the left applied to Trump and his COVID response.

This article speaks volumes about where Biden is at the present.

He is adamant raising the minimum wage has never caused inflation in any scenario....local, state, or federal.

And the guy is a smart dude. I posted about 4 articles from San Francisco, to California as a whole, to Seattle, that obviously calls out the rise in cost of everything from the minimum wage increase.

He also said raising the minimum wage at this point in time will not throw fuel on the inflation fire....

Insanity! Its an undeniable fact it will 100% impact inflation.

Ask him "then why don't we raise the minimum wage to $100 or $1,000 if it doesn't raise inflation?"
I already did!!!

And of course absolutely no response from him on the articles of recent proof and what you just said.

Dead freaking silence.

My solution to him...

Keep it just like it is today, local and state. If you choose to live in a city or state and want to run a business and pay 15-20 bucks for non-skilled, non-educated labor....by all freaking means do it. But dont mandate anything from the federal level.

At this point its a runaway freight train. Print more money with less goods to buy then watch staples climb as folks are willing to pay more for the same stuff and everything starts to increase price wise. You must then give people raises as those on the upper end are receiving more and will do this but not to the level of inflation. Higher interest rates must then come in like a hammer to stop this and people must suffer otherwise this cycle will continue till it implodes into a full scale Depression. We are halfway there. I wonder if even Blue states will be willing to vote for 4 more years of suffering when this all comes to a head. Stay tuned.

I agree with him if it was raised to only $10 or $15 an hour because the market has already effectively set the minimum wage at that point, so it wouldn't have any impact on business costs. The bill passed last spring that paid everyone to stay home basically moved the minimum wage to ~$15/hour without specifically legislating it by drastically reducing the workforce supply. A good percentage of the current inflation we are experiencing can be directly attributed to this. I would attribute the rest to raw material shortages due to the pandemic, and monetary policy.

IMO, the minimum wage should be abolished. All it does is create a barrier to entry into the workforce for the lowest skilled workers.

I agree to a point, businesses are reacting to the current market, but I guarantee you the large majority are not planning on wages remaining this way. If the dopes in DC make it permanent it will certainly make things worse as businesses shift to long term strategies... which will include a host of measures that would fuel inflation.

And wholeheartedly agree on your last paragraph

The market will adjust and folks will have to accept higher prices on goods and services to accommodate for the fixation of $15. Those folks will be right back to square one of just moving numbers but NO REAL NET GAIN. The solution is to uptrain yourself out of the UNSKILLED WORKER category.

Biden claims its transitory. In other words—he thinks it’s just going to magically go away on its own—-Worse yet, Biden continues to push his “build back better bill” inflationary policies which are guaranteed to make it worse. President Houseplant is worse than Carter in every way possible.

The Fed agreed with him up until the last month or so - hence the rate hikes.

Now Biden can say he helped solve inflation by 2024, assuming the hikes helped ease the inflation by then. He will blame Covid and supply chain and I’m sure most won’t care by then. He’s ****** for 2022 midterms though.

It will also lead to further automation - AKA - no people doing the work. Which will then tighten the labor market and increase unemployment ....... etc...

Exactly which is one of the longterm strategies I mentioned and it will be thoroughly expedited if the feds pass it.

He will also claim it doesn't impact unemployment among minimum wage employees.
