FWIW, here are the ones I listed with the weight distribution:

Tennessee: 15
Louisville: 15
Cincinnati: 20
Houston: 15
Ole Miss: 15
UCF: 10
SMU: 10

Sadly there are only about 20 football rivalries left. Maybe less in basketball.

Besides us? We are going to be stuck in C-USA 2.0 when UCF, Cincy and Houston leave the conference.

Utah, BYU, TCU, Louisville, UCF and Houston were the biggest winners in this whole realignment stuff the past 20 years.

Memphis probably got shafted more than any other school.

How many rivalries are there where both teams consider themselves rivals.

Maybe 20 ? Depends on which sport. Bama/Auburn , Ohio St/ Michigan, Army/Navy, Texas/OU, USC/UCLA maybe? I guess most of the U vs State rivalries like Ole Miss / State. But not many more. Is USC / Notre Dame a rivalry now ?

Yeah, this board is definitely more "old school" in terms of how rivalries, scheduling, and program direction are discussed.

The survey is about basketball, for starters. So think in those terms. (IMO this matters. I don't consider Old Miss a bb rival but I do in fb. With Cincy, I'm the other way around.)

Pre-conference realignment, there were a lot of 2-sided rivalries around. And Memphis-Lville was one of the best. We mutually hated each other.

It wasn't as heated as Louisville, but the Virginia Tech rivalry was pretty intense.

Basketball was Louisville, Cincinnati and for a few years Arkansas. I said was

Louisville (forever #1 regardless of whether we play of not)
Cincy
Houston

Interesting that nobody has listed Southern Mississippi.

There was a time when they were our biggest football rival and I would judge our team on how we played against them.

I didn't read all of that OP so didn't know it was basketball.

We called the game the black and blue game for the teams colors and the hard hitting of the game.

In MBB, UTK, Louisville & UK would be instant rivals if they would play us annually. Since they won't UH, WSU & Cincy as long as we are playing them annually, then probably WSU, UAB & SMU.

Hopefully, Wichita St stays the course post Marshall. That could develop into a heated rivalry, considering our options.
