RE: Biden* says 'Let's go Brandon, I agree' during Christmas call with kids and parents
CNN Now Attacking the Dad Who Trolled Biden With Bizarre Claim
Quote:The mania of the left going after dad Jared Schmeck for trolling Joe Biden by saying “Let’s go, Brandon” is ramping up. They’ve been trending Schmeck’s name all day on Twitter, discussing ways they can go after him for the temerity of teasing Biden. Imagine having the hate in your heart to try to destroy someone for a joke because he embarrassed your guy. That apparently deserves threatening the dad and trying to get him fired and/or harm his family business.
But now we’ve moved on to the next part of the drama. Now, that randos on Twitter have identified him and are targeting him, the liberal media is joining in. Instead of looking at this with some perspective — it’s a joke, people — they’re completely all-in with doing all they can to demonize Schmeck and what he said.
A CNN panel was upset that the dad was rude to Biden’s face. But then, one of their commentators takes it into complete bizarro-land by saying that Schmeck’s comment equals “insurrection.”
The CNN analyst, Ron Brownstein of The Atlantic, says, “It’s ungracious. It’s juvenile. It’s reprehensible.” But it’s not about incivility, he claims, “I think it’s fundamentally about insurrection.” He claims it’s a comment on Biden being an “illegitimate president.”
Are they kidding us? After four years of completely demonizing President Donald Trump, calling him every name in the book, with Democrats like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) even encouraging the harassment of Trump officials, you’re upset with a joke based on a media lie covering up Americans unhappiness with Biden? Now, they’re dismissing even the unhappiness with Biden that the joke reflects and terming it “insurrection” just to be upset with Biden? Are we fast approaching the Soviet level where the state media just echoes how you must be faithful to the party and there is no questioning or calling out the problems allowed?
Everything now is “insurrection” if they don’t like it, just like everything was previously racist if they needed to attack it. This was a joke — a peaceful protest if you will. Meanwhile, actual insurrection and violent protest are “mostly peaceful,” according to CNN, if it’s a protest with which they agree.
They’re not upset with what Schmeck said. They’re upset that it exposed Biden for all his failings and his cognitive issues — that’s the real problem with what he said and why they’re so mad. They’re upset that Biden repeated what Schmeck said and agreed with it, showing he had no idea what was being said. And the funny thing is the more they advertise this story, the more it exposes how regular Americans think Biden is a failure.
But there’s another dangerous path that CNN is treading with this approach. Claiming bizarrely that this is “fundamentally about insurrection” is a slander of Jared Schmeck. They better watch out going down this road if they don’t want to get sued again, as they were after they defamed Nicholas Sandmann. Sandmann got a settlement against them and just got another one against NBC. CNN is lurching into that territory again, and they better back out if they don’t want to make it worse.
I wrote yesterday about some truthful things that CNN managed to say, including the recognition of Biden’s “confusion” — a big recognition for the MSM to finally note — and that Biden has economic approval numbers worse than Jimmy Carter’s.
But they just can’t run a day without insanity.
Leftist Outrage Over ‘Let’s Go, Brandon’ Dad Is the Fakest of Fake Fakery
Quote:I know I don’t need to tell you this, but I’m going to do it anyway: The outrage over the dad that said “let’s go Brandon” on a phone call with President Joe Biden is about as fake as AOC’s concern over the treatment of illegal immigrants in an empty parking lot. However, high-profile leftists and members of the activist media are delivering an Oscar-worthy performance, as they try to convince the nation that the idea of insulting a president is a grievous sin that should not be forgiven.
After the father, who has been identified as Jared Schmeck from Oregon, said he wished Biden and his wife would have a “wonderful Christmas as well,” and then said “Let’s go, Brandon,” the left-wing chattering class had a collective meltdown. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth on social media and in various left-leaning op-eds from progressives clutching their pearls at Jared’s comments.
Even worse, folks on the left have begun a campaign to ruin Jared’s life for daring to take a shot at their president. RedState’s Nick Arama wrote:
But for the unpardonable sin of embarrassing Joe Biden, the left is not only trying to ruin him and his family, but they are also allegedly threatening him now. Schmeck said he’s now been getting “vague but threatening” phone calls since the exchange with the president.
Crazed leftists retaliated against Jared by posting his address on Twitter, along with the names of his family members. They also encouraged followers to harass him. These folks also launched a smear campaign against the family business at which he is employed. In short, they were following one of the most important tenets of the wokeism religion: Completely destroy those who speak out against you or mock your leaders.
So, how do I know this outrage is fake?
Elementary, my dear reader. For starters, 92.5 percent of all leftist outrage is fake. We know this.
But there is another way to tell. As I always say, you can determine whether someone actually believes in their principles by looking at how they apply them when it is not convenient. So, hop on in to my time machine and travel with me back to October of 2017, when the Trump Derangement Syndrome pandemic was still in full swing.
You might recall the story of Juli Briskman, who made headlines after she was photographed extending her middle finger at then-President Donald Trump’s motorcade while riding her bicycle. The New York Times reported:
Juli Briskman, 50, was riding her bicycle on Lowes Island Boulevard after 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 when she found herself sharing a lane with President Trump’s motorcade, which was leaving the Trump National Golf Course in Sterling, Va. As the fleet of about a half-dozen vehicles started to roll slowly past her, she thought briefly of cutting between the cars and riding away.
Instead, Ms. Briskman made the spontaneous gesture. It was captured by news cameras and soon became a moment shared across social media.
“Honestly, my blood started boiling at that point,” she said during an interview. “I saw somebody holding a newspaper; I assumed he was in there.”
Briskman was angered by Trump’s policies on immigration and health care, and she had learned earlier in the day that he was playing golf in the area.
“I just got angry,” the woman said. “I lifted my arm and started flipping him off. I started thinking, You’re golfing again when there is so much going on right now.”
When the story hit the airwaves, there was no outrage from the left. There was no wailing or gnashing of teeth. Hell, none of these people even went the “I don’t agree with what she did, but Trump’s policies are problematic” route.
Briskman was later fired from her job for violating her employer’s social media policy. But this prompted an outpouring of praise for the cyclist. Supporters actually raised over $100,000 in a GoFundMe.
Comedian Patton Oswalt tweeted:
“Her name is Juli Briskman (@julibriskman), she’s from my hometown (Sterling, VA) and she’s a patriot. Someone give her a job. Thank you.”
The New Yorker even dedicated a part of their Christmas poem to Briskman:
Give further props, while yet we linger,
To Juli Briskman and her finger,
The D.C. Post, the Al Smith dinner,
Alec Baldwin, Emmy winner,
To put it simply, they responded to Briskman’s uncouth actions by singing her praises. But it gets even better. The cyclist managed to leverage the media attention into a successful run for local office. In 2019, she was sworn in as a member of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.
From the New York Times:
Ms. Briskman, 52, who ran as a Democrat, defeated the incumbent with just over 52 percent of the vote. She campaigned on updating the county’s environmental plan, adding affordable housing and increasing pay for teachers and firefighters. And while knocking on thousands of doors, only sometimes did she mention her famous single-digit gesture.
“I never led with it,” she said. “Voters want to know about the local issues.”
Yeah, sure. Obviously, she did not need to lead with it because everyone know who she was because of the incident.
So not only did the left not bat an eye when Briskman flipped off President Trump, they celebrated her, supported her, and even elected her. This is yet even more proof that those frothing at the mouth over Jared Schmeck are full of bovine excrement.
Were Schmeck’s actions appropriate? Of course not. We criticize the same behavior when it’s used against one of ours. But this is no excuse to dox him and attempt to ruin his life.
These people have no problem with disrespecting an American president. They just don’t like it when you do it to a president they like, which can mean only one thing: They are raging hypocrites who should not be taken seriously.
