Best idea to sell tickets and have good crowds while being fair to teams that had the best seasons.

It’s hard for the away fans to prepare for travel , but I agree it would at least have the home team fans there as long as the home team didn’t get upset early

Which always seems to happen. Then you're likely to have zero fans there in most places.

Top nine teams go to the tournament, conference champion is host with a bye to the Championship game, the other eight teams play (Tuesday - four games ) (Wednesday two games) (Thursday one game) (Saturday Championship Game),

However I think the SEC has tied up Bridgestone through 2035. Not sure other venues would be as appealing.

When CUSA starts checking out potential locations for the relocation of the basketball tournament the first thing Judy will ask is that they “show her the curtains.” The quality of the curtains will play a huge factor in determining where CUSA decides to move the basketball tournament to.

We might try this out during CUSA 4.0.

Just can't give up the trolling. At least this was almost funny.

The pennies we get most likely go straight to the CUSA office where it is wasted on Christmas parties and fancy dinners. Why not put it where the most amount of fans can come and where they want to go? I feel the same way about our TV deal. Let's put exposure first instead of the pennies they are going to give us. I would give our games away for free if ESPN made us a priority and promoted our conference. That is the better long run play. In the future we may be able to negotiate for serious money.

I agree 100%. Exposure should be our first priority. What's the difference between a maximum dollar media deal compared to a maximum exposure deal? Is it a $1 million per year per school difference where the average C-USA school has a budget of $30+ million? The established C-USA schools will make that up and more by the exit fees and the FCS schools will make that up by the CFP payout. Liberty doesn't need it and New Mexico State is probably just happy to be here.

Since C-USA's "top dollar" deal was for $400k a year, you'd have to pay ESPN $600k a school to get to your $1m a school number.

Where was the C-USA tournament before it was in TX?
I’d like to see it in Nashville, a great central location, with lots of tourism.
I also think Pensacola, Destin, Panama City, FL would be a good area.

Congratulations, you came up with literally the only solution that GUARANTEES the home fans will have *only one* game to attend all tourney!!!?

Memphis could be a good spot, too. Not sure about arenas there.

And the only plan that GUARANTEES the regular season Champ plays for the tournament championship on the biggest night of the tournament and increases the odds that if they are beaten two teams may be invited to the dance.

Or they could do it the way it's being done in CUSA this season - everyone gets into the tournament, but no one has an idea how the seedings will work until they finally release the details a week before the tournament.

Good point.

I actually think it would be a good way to reward the regular season champ and make those games more meaningful.

But give seeds two and three byes also (only make them win 3 games)

Seeds 4,5,6,7,8 have to win 5 games,
9-14 have to win 6 games.

Put the first couple rounds on-campus, only the last 7 remaining travel to the tourney.

None of this will happen anytime in the near future by the way 03-wink but I would like to see regular season games count for more, and a full arena for the tourney final on TV is not a bad plan.

So you’ve convinced me 03-wink

Here at C-USA, we don’t have seedings. We have seedlings.

Allow LaTech to host. They have a nice gym. And let a local high school or Grambling State be site for the girls basketball.
