Ado looks lost in all phases of the game. Bad hands, concrete feet, and no touch make for inept offense and fumbling, stumbling defense. Really surprised how poorly he has played so far in these three games. In fact, our interior defense has been suspect both against Georgia and again tonight against a very ordinary team. Johnson for Alabama A&M completely dominated inside tonight regardless of who defended him.

Post defense is definitely something we will need to fix. Seems like the shot blockers are off the ball types. Johnson mostly just picked on Davenport and outmuscled him.

out with ankle injury i believe
Probably hold him out till Illinois
whew i wondered why he wasn't seen. Tks for the info. We'll need him against illinois
btw, does anybody know why one of the twin sisters of Trey Scott, Jada Scott is on the roster but not played het this season for the lady bearcats? I see nothing about her on the news.
Weird game. Never in doubt, and good to get the guys more minutes together. They did not play well and still won by 20.
DDJ hit some shots. Hope it lasts, but doesn't seem likely. He has not filled up the stat sheet the last 2 games like he normally does.
Ody had a strong game. He was way too athletic for AA&M. Saunders was similarly too much for them. MAW had a pretty mediocre night, but he is so smooth and steady.
Davenport is a good shooter and brings great energy, but he is really struggling otherwise. He almost gave up 30 to his counterpart.
Madsen gave lie to my theory that he should be starting and getting serious minutes. He was bad all around.
Anybody figure out what we are running on either side of the ball? They don't seem to do anything but like a really simple motion offense. They tried to run couple of things against the zone tonight, but that wasn't much, just popping both bigs to the elbows. D still seems to be straight man to man with almost no switching. I'm kind of surprised at how bland it all is. It's still early, and maybe they don't want tape out there? Or is this it?

Davenport wasn't good, but it's an exaggeration to say he gave up 30 points. My estimate is that Davenport gave up 16-18 to Johnson, Ody 8-10 and 4-6 were on other players (mostly Ado). Ody had his best game, but he was still out of control (especially on defense) at times.
I don't agree that Mason was bad all around tonight. He didn't make threes and really needs to learn to only shoot when he has his feet set. But he ended up with 4 assists and showed a nice ability to drive to the basket and distribute the ball. Also led the team in blocks (with 2) and overall I though he was pretty solid on defense.
Wes has said they we are the farthest behind on implementing his schemes that he has ever been (perks of new team with new players) and we haven't really put in a zone offense yet. Not having Lakhin also hurts, as he has really been a zone buster when he gets the ball at the FT line.
Rolled his ankle prior to the Georgia game, apparently it swelled up like a balloon after that game and they figured he could rest out today and they'd be fine.

Hopefully, he's not injury prone because he can become a very special player for the Bearcats based upon our first look this season.
Hugely happy with this team. Do they have things to work on? Absolutely but they play hard and seem to be learning. No quit in them to this point. Also love that, at least through 3 games, anyone can be "the guy" for a 5 - 8 minute stretch at a time on both ends of the floor... making UC so much harder to plan for and defend. All that I as a fan can ask.
I think that some of the droughts are going to be a function of Wes' philosophy of fast pace and very fluid substitution patterns. It means that many leads are completely safe but that once they fall behind I would expect that most deficits aren't doomsday scenarios either. This team and style are built to give the Bearcats the best chance to win. I'm willing to believe we're still climbing and not cresting.

By my count that’s 2 knee injuries and an ankle injury and he’s only played 2 games for us. So far not looking good.
