Still pissed from the Summy choke job in 09.

Still the best game I've ever witnessed at Dowdy-Ficklen, and Keenum is probably the best college QB I've seen play in person. Seemed like he always managed to step up to avoid the pressure and deliver a first down pass down the middle of the field that day.

Agreed, because I don't think they are letting us play.

Slow your roll dude. The coaches and players need to focus on Navy. They've been handing us our *** for years. If any coach can get a handle on Navy's offense it should be Coach Houston.

Message boards are for chaos.

What difference does it make if I focus on the Navy game? I'm not going to play in it so who's the real idiot here?

My focus today is eating good barbecue, drinking quality brews, and listening to great music, at least that’s where all the threads have been taking me.

Anyway, kind of excited to see how we stack up against a high quality opponent in hoops. So… ready to see if we can hang with Oklahoma on Thursday night. Go Pirates.

Because it will make you look like a bigger moron then you already are if we lose to Navy by talking about a team we play in 2 weeks while not saying jack squat about a team we play this week. If we lose to Navy the Cinn game means nothing

That wasn't a choke job. That was 4 eventual NFL D linemen that all but killed your QB most of the game. I was surprised he walked off the field.

Only Houston fans delusional enough to believe losing to the defending conference champions on their own field is a choke job because they beat an overrated Oklahoma state

I'm not sure I understand the contention. If a Coog fan calls it's a "choke" job by UH, not sure how it diminishes the ECU win any. And if you watched the video of the final seconds of the game, you gotta admit, that's a fair point. That wasn't any delusion. If Castille makes that catch, they WOULD have won. But he didn't and ECU held on for the win.

That game seems like ages ago.

Not that it even matters but this is a dumb reply and doesn't make sense. ECU led the entire second half of the game and was up by 12 pts late in the 4th. If anything it was almost a choke job by ECU. Then you mention the last few seconds, how does one consider it a "choke" when you're already down by 6 points with under a minute to go on your side of the 50? I'm not sure you understand the concept of choking in sports.

Your right it doesn't matter, but since we're all contributing irrelevance to this thread, why stop now?

Firstly, I didn't call it a choke job, in fact I remember that game as two teams that were pretty evenly matched coming into the game, regardless of the scores throughout the game. But the only thing I see dumb is y'all getting your panties in a wad over the description of a game that happened 10 years ago, trying to defend some ancient glory against insult by splitting hairs on what's a choke and what isn't.

I get it's been a pretty long dry spell since y'all had a chance to argue championship games outcomes, but this is kinda silly, because as you said, it doesn't matter.

ECU was up by 2 touchdowns with like 4 minutes to go in that game. The pass was broken up, it never made it to his hands. Not completing a 40 yard pass in double coverage is not a choke lmao

Your "up by 2 touchdowns with 4 minutes to go" turned into only "up by 6 points with 40 seconds to go", which by definition means, in the same amount of game time, almost the same amount of points were scored by both teams where a only single score would have changed the outcome.

BTW, that was a free engineering evaluation, put your wallet away.

As far as the pass being broken up, I think you are just ignoring the part where it went completely through Castilles hands before touching the defender's hands and bouncing off his helmet, but it's all academic. I sure wish we had 4K hi def in 2009 so you could see it clearer, but anyway, I'm glad you're reliving the moment from so long ago.

The Houston WR definitely had a play on the ball...I don't know if I'd say it went *through* his hands, but it was definitely catchable.. I think there was 30k in attendence, the upper deck was fairly empty if I recall, but after that pick may have been the loudest I've ever heard Dowdy-Ficklen.

Also, that announcer ? immediately armchair QB'ing the play call.
