Very nice win for NMSU. I hope for USU next. For old times sake.

Rice played excellent and was a very efficient 8-12 shooting (FG + 3-Pts). At least for this game, he seems to be the Aggies MVP and not Teddy 'Buckets' Allen who had to hoist 29 shots to get his 20 points. A 34% shooting percentage (10-29) does not seem that good. Did he have a low shooting percentage at Nebraska as well?[/i]

I agree Allen has taken a lot of shots. Some of them not such good shots. But if you’ve watched him a lot of those shots rim out or come so close to going in. So his shot is there. Just not getting the bounces. The other thing is that since teams know he can and will shoot from anywhere he always commands his defender not to be able to leave him for even a second.

Lastly despite his scorers mentality he is a pretty good defender, plays with an extremely high motor, rebounds well and is pretty disruptive on defense. He does a lot of intangibles very well that get overlooked.

Looks like Utah State has got it now.

Teddy Allen might be struggling putting the ball in the basket but he is playing great defense and also had no turnovers today.

Oh no! As an NMSU fan we definitely know the feeling from last year and sympathize with you. The waiting during those pauses is rough.

Seattle is up 39-15 over Morgan State. Houston transfer Cameron Tyson has 24 points off of 6-7 shooting from 3.

Seattle U built a big lead on Morgan State. Now it looks like they took their foot off the peddle. Seattle should winning easy but it looks like they will coast to a win. As for the CBU game? San Jose State has turned it into a low scoring grinder. We will see if the Lancers can win without making an avalanche of threes.

I spoke too soon. CBU is starting to heat up from behind the arc. They are down 1 point, 64-63 under 2 minutes.

CBU nearly threw it away, but win by 1 67-66. It was arguable that CBU fouled SJSU on their final drive to the basket.

Freshman Taran Armstrong is going to be special; if he sticks around at CBU a while. He had a triple double tonight... 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists. Reed Nottage led CBU with 28 points.

Tre is solid too. There's a lot to like about the CBU program.

Up until this point, I wasn't sold on Rice being our starting point guard. Today, he played well in that role. It will be a work in progress but given that Teddy Bucket does his best work starting his offense above the arc and driving down hill from there, I can see why Jans has put Allen at the two and moved Rice to the point. Tillman has also settled in well at the small forward/wing position.

I like the looks of Mario McKinney as well. He had solid minutes versus UTEP and looks very capable. Interesting to see how he fits in this season.

"IF" the WCC were to add new membership, I feel CBU has already positioned itself to be at the top of the WCC's list.
