Just horrible breaking the press. NIU big men have been terrible and Keyshawn Williams is not ready for this level yet ( bad)

Burno! Washington couldn’t hit water if it fell out of a boat but like how the team responded when they made their comeback. Undersized, but nice to see we can finally shoot the 3, something the Monty era lacked.

So, SO impressed. I don't think Washington is a great team or even good team, but they're not awful. And NIU took 2 or 3 different runs from them and came back and sank shots to stop them. Was the inbound struggles ridiculous? Yeah, but have to be content, happy, or even ecstatic with just about everything else for game 1.

As I said earlier...Burno knowing UW would help. It totally did.

First win against a PAC10/12 team ever?

Yes, I think they said it was only our 2nd game EVER against a PAC 10/12

dc1: So much for your 1-10 prediction. This was nothing like Monty's start.

"Yes! It’s just like Monty’s start here. Now that I’ve seen a game under Burno I’m even more worried. Only two home non conference games and playing this tough of a non conference schedule with this team and starting your coaching career with this schedule is very dangerous. As a coach and especially a new one you need some wins to gain the confidence of your players. On paper they could start 1-10."

Yes, it will be a huge uphill climb going to Indiana, Missouri, the trip to Jacksonville (FL), Marquette and Dayton, but there's no doubt NIU men's basketball is better off without Monty.

Huh...I did not realize that. They played UW in the past.

Crazy to think that Utah has played in Huskie stadium but our BB team never played any other PAC12 teams. I'm guessing that Burno will find a way to play another one or two in the future.
