Posts like this are what makes you come off as a douche and makes it difficult to be civil.
I hope Tech gets on a roll in something so you'll put away your Gump gear and wear your school colors.

Not one bit, you get kind of numb after the first couple when you have a season like this. It is comforting to know I won't have to put up with punks like you here pretty soon.
Well, after we whip your ass in Ruston next year, feel free to prioritize your opponent's coaches' spouses over the ass-whoopin' itself.
After that, I assure you, you will not be more glad that the ordeal of sharing a division is coming to a close than I will.

I had nothing to do with your coaches wife showing her azz at our stadium. She was just as classless as you. As for ass-whoopin next season? Well we will see about that. Next year is next year.
I've been on several road games over the years. This is the only instance where I've heard where a UAB coach's wife was out of line. Coming from the most perennially aggrieved fanbases on earth, I'm not sure if it's even real.
And supposing it is, I'd have to wonder how she was treated by the home fans to illicit such a reaction.

It's very real. Marino, Mareno, whatever the defensive lineman and some Tech students were jawing from the start of the game, as the game progressed other players and coaches (I assume GA's) started jumping in. Language began to shift to predominantly 4-letter words, police and security started parsing through the students involved to escort them out. I assume she saw the police interacting with the team telling them to get back and decided to come over, she jumps in with some four letter words of her own was told something along the lines of how bout you show some class, and then had to be physically restrained and handed to Alabama State Troopers to leave the sideline.
Students, GA's, the team, meh it happens. Stick a bunch of 20 somethings in competitive environment and there's gonna be some BS flung by both sides. Most of the interaction was Marino calling Tech students dumb hicks and them responding that was rich coming from a guy taking 6 years to get a degree in kinesiology. It turned to scoreboard then how many guys qualify for AARP. Back and forth. She should have just left it alone and it would have died down, instead she came over and it escalated. I had season tickets in the buffer section between the students and visiting teams for a number of years before I started taking my sons to games, and her and Kiffin are the only two to ever really push the boundary. Kiffin I kind of get someone made a comment about his divorce and he flung a pen into the student section. Only other moment that comes to mind than those two was a couple USM players during the 2017 game and Ito Smith told them to cool it and came over to apologize to a guy with kids for their language.

So you've seen it three times at Tech. I've never seen it anywhere else. Maybe that days something about Tech.

I guess you've never sat in or near student sections then. I've seen it on the sidelines from the stands and the field from D2 with a handful of guys interacting with fans to an SEC venue with a few hundred or more. Some students cross lines, and some are genuinely creative with their barbs and back and forth. It's part of collegiate athletics, nothing better than coming to the sideline, making a hand puppet to mock a loud fan and point at the scoreboard with the other.
I'm genuinely curious now, what does the student section look like at a UAB game? Not meaning it in any condescending way, just genuinely curious, as I never experienced a game at Legion.

UAB's student section is in the end zone and corner of the side of the visitor's bench, but not close enough to cause a ruckus at Protective.
At Legion, they were on the other side of the field.

My remarks weren't directed at you per se. You have been pretty decent through all of this. I am aiming for the more sensitive of your bunch.
Oh I know none of the remarks are directed at me.....lol

Good deal, I always hated when the student section was far away, but can understand.
I know Pilot and some others will disagree but I will miss UAB and UTSA, by far the closest we've had to Hawaii or Fresno since we left the WAC. Those were some schools that had some...raucous student sections. They caused so much ruckus that Peanut made the entire conference put their student sections on the home side.
I know we all go back and forth on here repping our schools (not always in the best light), but in all seriousness if you make the trip west next year drop a PM and come by the tailgate.
