I'd go with either the BCS rankings or make it so only the top 4 or 8 confrence Champs get it. Confrence titles have tk matter at some point

Didn’t that happen several years ago and they still got in the playoffs??

I listened to enough Finebaum shows over the years that you don't beat Alabama, Alabama beats itself and the opponent is the beneficiary of that error. That fanbase is something else.

Unfortunetly, Keep adding FCS teams will give them justification.

Correct. We've mentioned this several times on our board. In every other collegiate sport other than FBS, at the beginning of the season, every single team has a path to a national championship. Realistically, only a handful of teams have the capability of reaching that, but every team has that potential. In basketball, any team can win their conference, make it to the tourney, and win out for a championship. In football, a team like Cincy can go undefeated, win their conference, and not even be given an opportunity to play for a chance to get to the national championship. This can only be corrected with expanded playoffs that gives all conference champs a spot in the playoffs.

RE: College football figures speaking out...it's getting ridiculous.
It's a cash grab. It's set-up to get the biggest universities who bring the most cash in, not the best teams. All of the "polls" from beginning to end are set-up in a way to get a specific result by the time it's all over.
1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Oklahoma
Screenshot this, do whatever you need to with it that will be the seeding. It's the match-ups that bring in the most cash for three different games. The goal being to get UGA and Alabama in the championship game.

I think they'll make it. They're not as dominant as they've been in years past. But UGA is nasty this year.

Who is Alabama going to lose to? The best bet for a loss is Auburn because weird things happen in that rivalry game (which I admittedly try to watch because it is entertaining to see the trailer parks of Alabama go wild, no offense to anyone who lives in a mobile, not so mobile home).
Alabama could lose by 17 to UGA and the committee would still drop them just to 3 or maybe even 4. If Alabama pulls off a miracle and wins, UGA drops to 2.
Cash grab. Ratings grab. Cincinnati would result in high ratings right now but they would match them up against UGA instead of an Ohio State.
Now that I think about it, Cincinnati's saving grace may be if Ohio State gets to 2. A Cincinnati - Ohio State NY6 Bowl would get massive ratings right now and I'd be o a Cincy fan that day.

Alabama will fall from glory in a matter of time. Alabama my always be SEC good but they can't win all the time.
Someday Alabama will be get beat twice in a row and the slip will have begun

This is NOT a playoff!
This is a small, invitational tourney. A true playoff allows for each member institution a clear path to enter said playoff by their play on the field.
What we have now is nothing more than a circle jerk of A-holes sitting around whining about who has the prettiest car. It's a complete farce.

As others have said it’s 100% an invitational. They choose different data for different teams. They use teams 11-25 to justify their top 4 and site every stat under the sun. If Bama makes the SEC title them and Georgia are in. If Ohio St wins out they are in. The last spot would be Oklahoma or Oregon.
They need to do away with the committee of incompetence and use the old BCS formulas to select 6 at large teams along with 6 conference champs. Only give byes to conference champs.

It just truly sucks how greed is killing FBS and ultimately college football as a whole. This is the only sport/division where a fake media given subdivision, that is not recognized by the NCAA (G5) gets excluded all together from competing for a championship. The other sides reasons for exclusion is always hypothetical too, like so and so would blow them out...well, I guess we will never freaking know. They don't want the truth exposed.

13 of the 21 semifinal and championship games have been blowouts
Teams blown out
Alabama
Clemson
Oklahoma (more than once)
Ohio state
Notre dame (more than once)
Oregon
Washington
Michigan state
Florida State
They never mention that when saying so and so (insert any G5 or non blue blood) would get blown out. It’s total bullsht. They don’t want a Cincy getting in and exposing their scam.

Every conference champion should be in the playoff. Add the top rated wild cards so we have either a 12 or 16 team field. Unlikely to happen,, but I think it'd be good for the game.

The 12-team playoff with 6 conference champs guaranteed is going to happen. One of the G5 teams will have a place every year and that will put the SBC winner in line to be included if the league continues to strengthen, especially in competition with the realigned AAC and MWC. If the XII expands again, it only helps us, because they will poach the AAC and MWC again (Memphis, SMU and/or Boise State).
