This is like watching your neighbor across the street move out without any notice over a few days. It goes all quiet for a few days as you mess with some of the stuff they left you, and then about a week later you hear a strange noise from the house and discover they left their pet Bulldog tied up in the backyard.

I mean, that's cruelty to animals, and you debate calling the Humane Society, but instead you cut him loose and call animal control to report a viscous dog in your area who threatened your children the other day... (I mean its not YOUR DOG, so who cares, right) Anyway, Animal Control comes by and drags the bulldog away, and you imagine its going to be taken in by some rescue center in Southern Louisiana, but also realize it could be headed for that great big milkbone in the sky, and you are strangely happy about that

I feel for the 5 leftover schools. MTSU and WKU fit in the MAC. That might un-stagnate the MAC.

We've used an "across the street" analogy to refer to CUSA ever since the last round of realignment and the formation of the current SBC. Its very possible we may be considering the AAC board as the "neighbors across the street" in a year or two.

I used to call them Left Twix, but that honor now goes to AAC 2.0.

Fixed it for you. If you took someone from 20 years ago and showed them the team lineup for the new AAC, they would tell you it’s a bastardized version of what was CUSA. And they would wonder who and where some of those schools came from.

La. Tech administrators need to come out and own it. They need to look their alumni, boosters, athletes, and general student body in their eyes and say that they made missteps and that they're going to work tirelessly to make it right.

They're in this position because they first left the SB for the WAC, then refused the SB in favor of C-USA, then never once came out to refute what McClelland said. They overplayed their hand, acting as if they're Boise State when they're just a legends-in-their-own-minds, a-little-above-average moderately budgeted G5 athletics program in Ruston, LA.

The school that deserves real sympathy is UTEP. They didn't do anything wrong except be located in western Texas and not quite win enough in recent years.

Just wild that LaTech officials were so willing to burn bridges on record over and over. Time to pay the piper. I feel for the fans it screwed over.

UTEP not having a home feels weird. I know they have struggled a lot but they are a nationally know brand. Maybe not a strong brand but known. The Sun Bowl is a known stadium. If all was fair in love and war, the MWC would take up 2 of UTEP/NMSU/LaTech.

FIU is just screwed. They should have a home based on marketz and such but they are learning the lesson of never investing in the program.

Thank god TXST got rejected from CUSA and the SBC gave them a home. We would be sitting there with those three right now. Please don't kick us out. Ignore football and see we won a Bubas Cup recently.

If The CUSA dies we are in real trouble. If CUSA was viable they would be adding schools from other conferences, therefore opening up spots in other conferences. In this case all the conferences are gonna be full, except OVC . and the southland . Neither of those are real stable.
