My baseball interest takes a hit when the Reds are finished. So I don't know how much I'll end up watching but it's a kind of interesting matchup in my opinion.

I don't necessarily want to root for Houston given the cheating thing, but baseball's got quite a history with "cheating" so it doesn't really bother me as much as it does others. Then there's the Dusty factor. I liked him as Reds manager but was ready to move on from him at the end and this success doesn't really change my mind about that. Sometimes it's just time. But he's a good dude and I enjoy seeing more, uh, experienced folks do well in this day and age where so much is catered/focused to youth. Managing a World Series Championship would be a huge cherry on his remarkable career.

On the other hand, I still don't like the All Start Game shenanigans MLB pulled on the Braves so it seems a bit poetic that WS games will be getting played there. I also like that when the cancel mob came for Travis Tritt singing the National Anthem in the ALCS that the Braves didn't give in to it.

I guess I'll be rooting just a bit for Dusty and the Astros but I won't be too upset either way.

I’m biased as a lifelong Braves fan but they completely rebuilt their outfield during the season, front office didn’t give up and write the year off. The payroll discrepancy is enough to pull for them.

If Dusty wins then Reds fans may get an updated toothpick holder next year from Bob.

A baseball manager is probably the most overrated position in all of sports. I saw a stat one time, it's estimated that they can swing a win total of +/- 2-3 wins a year. I'm going from memory, so that could be slightly off. That's still a pretty big deal, but the hand wringing that I see sometimes blows my mind. Especially now-a-days where analytics does most of the thinking for you.

Maybe it's just fun to dream that we all could do a better job.
