I'm a Herd fan, and I hate this suggestion.

WKU is the only one I truly feel bad for and wish we had room for.

as said before and I’ll say again..they were a part of this league (for decades). We gave them a home when they moved up to fbs and they chose to leave.

Some would say the same regarding ODU But to me it’s completely different situation with them

As bad as it’s going to be for them we can’t add them. It is just too many. They need to do what the can for the next decade or so before the next big conference shake up. Then we will do all this again.

Most of the P5 slots are being filled up. At some point it will cut off. It will cutoff soon. If you aren't already in or won't be in the near future. Chances are you'll never be P5. That's the truth of it all. That's where CFB is headed. The SBC has done a solid job getting a great group of schools that will be great for long term longevity and prosperous sustainability within the G5 realm. Good programs, core fan bases, and solid geography.

It may be a few years, not a decade.

If SBC basketball was already a 2 or 3 bid league in basketball for example I wouldn't mind going up to 16 teams to add WKU and someone else BUT 14 teams is a lot for 1 bid therefore let's not get even larger...

Let the C-USA become the new FCS call-up league. Everyone knows it'll be how the SBC used to be. Teams come up, other teams leave, and then they add a few more. It would be nice if the NCAA would just allow C-USA to exist as a conference that only houses a university's football team and they could store non-football sports elsewhere.

UCONN, UMASS, Liberty, WKU, MTSU, FIU, La Tech, UTEP, and NMSU could be a 9 team conference of football teams only. Still would get to participate in post-season play with bowl ties, etc. but those teams could place their non-football sports in more geographic friendly conferences.

Sad thing is I'm not sure that CUSA has remotely as good of a pool of FCS call-ups as the SBC did. Liberty has already turned them down. Not many positives tbh.
