We are annoying as heck! But that might have been angst of being stuck in cusa for so long after dominating the original and strongest versions of it! I think we will appreciate the commonalities. But yeah UL will hate us quickly. It will start with baseball(will be one of the best rivalries of any sport) and eventually spill over to football. I was even nice and said UL

99% of it with UL fans is due to the conference championship game vs. Coastal being cancelled last year.

Troy hates playing ULM in Monroe if that counts.

Troy / Louisiana has almost 20 years of football history with one another so we are familiar enough with them to not like them but not hate them.

Georgia Southern / Troy could have developed something had we kept playing every season.

Well the Cajuns don’t dislike ULM, y’all just piss us off the the extra L. It could all be avoided by saying UL, Louisiana or just Cajuns.

I’m excited for Troy to be in our division now. Looking forward to a home win every other year. ? I honestly usually just call the Cajuns the Cajuns except when they piss me off. They like to act like we are non existent, but besides last year we normally have some pretty heated games. We definitely get along better than ULM and Tech and bond over our mutual hatred of the Bulldogs, who are now basically irrelevant. We have a long respectful history with stAte, but can’t be much of a rivalry in football when we haven’t beaten them in over a decade. Maybe this is the year, but after their showing against the Cajuns, who knows? Hoping to build somewhat of a rivalry with USM.

Texas State's biggest enemy is Texas State...err Texas State administration at least. We need to beat them first. Hopefully our toxic AD being gone and a new President will help turn things around.

I'm old enough to have witnessed a few very good Georgia Southern games (as an independent and then SoCon member) with James Madison and Marshall back in the day.

Will be fun to re-establish some of those engagements, as well as ODU.

One interesting note, to this day I don't think that a bigger visiting crowd has ever attended a game at Paulson than the group the Herd brought in a regular season matchup in 1989. That will likely be eclipsed by our game this year with BYU, but only Furman in 2001, South Florida in 1998 and maybe FAMU a couple of times have even come close.
