Tigers vs Navy By The Numbers 2021
For everything turn turn turn.

there is a season turn turn turn.

The tigers main problem turn turn turn.

OK maybe a little too over the top but we all know what has been the main issue in this current three game losing streak.

It will also be a main factor this week.

If the Tigers finally find a cure for their turnover problem this game shouldn't be close.

Unless Navy eats up a lot of yardage with the dive play the Tigers safeties and DBs have shown the ability to close quickly enough and sure handed enough to shut down the edge so far this year.

The Navy line has shown little ability to protect the passer on the few passing atempts.

They have shown little ability to pressure the opposing QB.

Tigers must find a way to limit the Midshipmen's long drives and give their defense time to rest.

Tigers cannot waste what few opportunities they get to score.

Henigan owns 2 of the top ten passing yardage games in Tigers history and easily could add a third this week.

Austin leads the nation in receiving yardage and could expand his lead this week.

On paper this should be a cakewalk for the Tigers return teams.

ON PAPER!

These young Tigers are in bad need of a positive result and we very well could and should get that this week.

Stop the turnovers and limited yardage on the dive and it should be a happy weekend for a bunch of Tiger cubs.

If we weren’t 3-3 Calvin Austin would be in the Heisman discussion.

Thanks for always doing this. TOs are a problem, but I don't agree with them being the main issue though. We might be ranked high in total yardage, but our efficiency numbers aren't on the same level.

Curious how the turnover prone option was working for Navy as compared to what ours is.

There is something oddsmakers see that I can’t put my finger on. ESPN FPI still has us at about a 90% chance of winning. We are over a touchdown favorites. I’m not sure what sort of deep stat magic they have, but they are usually right

When I looked at their efficiency numbers they were terrible. However their terrible efficiency number rankings are more inline with their terrible total offense yards rank. These are two of my go to sites.

Look up "The Good Judgement Project." Vegas obviously pays their handicappers to try and figure it out. And they do a really old job of it. But the general public will hone that number into a more accurate figure.
For example, take 10 people and ask them how much a cow weighs. When you average the answers you will get a number that's kind of close to the weight. Now take 1000 people and do the same thing. That number will be more accurate. More people betting = more accurate line.

Is it true, if a person picks up/lifts a newborn calf off the ground--lifts the calf everyday --that when the calf is a cow that he can still lift it ?

Ellis (lg) and Rogers (wr) who missed the last two games, along with Clark (rb) are game time decisions against Navy.

Thanks for the links.
The offensive efficiency numbers are actually better than I thought, given the turnovers. #35 on one and #38 on the other.
Defense efficiency is #105. Atrocious. Only 2 teams worse in the AAC - which is not known for defensive prowess.
