TCU also has a nice rivalry with Utah and BYU. The Utah one is starting to fade but I am certain the BYU rivalry will be heated from the first game in the new Big 12.

I'm sorry OSU's only rival is leaving, hopefully for you guys you can keep the game with OU going in the future.

Tech considers TCU their #1 rival? I’d think you’d come close or even sell out your stadium against your #1 rival most every time. I guess Tech does rivalries different.

Have no interest in keeping the game going against the traitorist bastards Zero U.

Well people in West Texas of course, and TCU and Tech folks.

If you ever want to know anything else about college football in Texas or its' history just let me know and I am happy to oblige.

Ok, I guess secret rivalries are still rivalries.

Let me know when you find a Red Raider who doesn't consider TCU their rival. I'll wait here.

I'm not sure the word being absent in Stillwater makes it a secret. There seems to be a whole lot of important information that still has not made its way to Stillwater.

I could go on and on about the intertwining of Tech and TCU but the reality is that being a rival with Texas Tech is no great feat, in fact it is a bit embarrassing.

RE: Once the dust settles and
Baylor, SMU, and Tech are definitely the top games for most TCU fans on a yearly basis. Sure we love beating and hating Texas (as everyone in the old SWC did), but there isn't enough animosity from the Texas side to make it a true rivalry.

Baylor vs. TCU is great because it is relatively even historically and I would venture to say it is the #1 game circled for both fan bases.

SMU varies a bit, but I'd think it probably would still be on average TCUs #2 most circled game. It is probably #1 on average for SMU fans.

Tech I'd probably say would be #3 on average for TCU fans and I'd think TCU is probably top 3 circled game for your average Tech fan. I think Texas would be #1 for a lot of Tech fans, but it isn't reciprocated by fans in Austin (where OU and TAMU are clear top 2).

Who are you thinking most TT fans would have as #2?

It seems like UH/TT rivalry will be pretty heated after a few annual battles.

Would love to hear from a Red Raider and I'm not speaking for them here but I'd guess after a few more years in the new Big 12 TT's top 3 rivals will be UH/TCU/OSU in no particular order.

I was just saying generically that we'd be top 3 for most Tech fans. Most Tech fans I know would have TCU #2 after Texas, but since I went to HS in Fort Worth most of the Tech fans I know are from Fort Worth so I'd expect them to have a lot of emotion around the TCU game due to family, friend, coworker overlap.

The potential is there for some pretty good rival games. WV vs Cincy, WV vs UCF come to mind. WV had a decent rivalry in USF so no reason that can't work with UCF. UCF UH and or Cincy also very possible.

I'll miss Memphis. Even though they only beat us once most of the games were close and exciting. I think we would have a rivalry with them if they make it to the Big12 one day.

So there must be another former Big 8 school that gets the OSU fanbase's jollies off. Or maybe y'all have always been too busy obsessing over OU?

I agree thought the former Big 8 outside of OU is very underwhelming and hard to get excited about playing against.

I appreciate all the help figuring out who is and who is not a rivalry for OSU. It damn sure isn’t the West Dallas Christian Toads. If there is a rivalry after OU it’s the Whorns. Nobody else comes close to ringing the bell.

No problem, I mean I don't doubt for a second that you as an OSU fan get excited to play UT. I don't doubt that your entire fanbase does as well. What I am telling you as an Austinite who has spent a lot of time on UT campus and whose family and friends mostly went to UT and who is currently living in ATX is that I have never in my life ever heard Oklahoma State mentioned. There are literally a dozen schools ahead of OSU on the list of schools that UT and their fans care about. As you said a rivalry needs to be circled by both schools and if you think UT considers OSU a rival or cares about OSU one bit you are mistaken.

No TCU fans don't care about OSU either. I already listed TCU's rivals: SMU, Texas Tech and Baylor.

I’m not claiming the Whorns as some big “rivalry”, but they are closer than any of the other future 11 B12 teams. Like I said, the new B12 will present us with no rivalries, just 11, nothing to get excited about opponents.

Yeah, Baylor may claim TCU as a rival, but I doubt Tech will claim you. You’re just trying to hold on to the old SWC.

Tech hates TCU. They consider us their #1 rival. .

Well 10 mos after the start of this thread, the question is still valid. I am rooting for more adds, hopefully from Pac schools.

the difference is that we've all set our sights a little "higher", as to possible additions

It's #1 for most TCU people I know, with SMU being a close #2. Some will flip those two, but it's safe to say there's no love lost between us and either of those schools.

Tech being a rival is probably #3/4 for TCU fans depending on who you ask. There's still a lot of hate for Texas going back to the SWC days. But the Tech game has been fun and it gave us one of the best moments ever:

As for Tech's biggest rivals, it's easily A&M and Texas. TCU's probably 3rd. We have fun playing for that saddle trophy, but Tech hates those two schools more than us. In fact the butt of the horse for their Red Raider statue on campus faces College Station and that's not a coincidence.

I've heard rumors they are trying to keep the Texas games as an annual non-conference game, similar to how TCU/SMU have ours. I hope they do, it's been a good rivalry.

When the dust settles, the Big 12 will be the same as it is now without OU or UT and with the 4 additions.

I don't know what to make of the PAC-12's situation. It can't possibly be a good thing that it has taken this long to do literally nothing -- on both the expansion and TV contract fronts.
