Hmmm - https://pocketpath.com/ - something about promoting this on his twitter account feels off to me. Benefit of the doubt at this point. Not used to seeing our coaches or couches do this.

Bostick has been working hand and hand with these companies for years. I wouldn't be surprised if Pocketpath and the couple other companies/products he mentioned in last week's tweet are donating the products to Rice.

This needs to be a concern as I think he will be a hot coaching candidate in the coming years. He may have been "under the radar" to many on this board but to those of us who follow the summer ball circuit, analytics and tools for development this was a fantastic hire. I believe he will be making a huge impact at Rice in the next 2-3 years with significant improvement this coming season. Just my opinion of course. Full disclosure...I am in no way related to Bostick!!! (lol)

Regarding the pocket path trainer I see no issue here, he still wants to spread his knowledge to the younger players which is a great thing IMO.

Which summer HS programs do you follow in the Central Texas - Austin to San Antonio - area?

Action (Leander) and Wings (Austin) seem to be two of the better development programs. Opinion about either of those? Or others in CenTex?

Those are fine programs, but I follow more of the programs out of STX, SETX and NTX.

You're going to be even more wowed when you hear what's coming by November. According to Bostick, we're building what only a handful of MLB teams have. Really exciting stuff. Rice Baseball and Reckling are going to be a destination site.

A few more pieces of the puzzle:
We have stadium & mobile @TrackManBB units and @Sony RX10 cameras (Edgertronic cameras too) for pitch tracking and slo-motion video capabilities at home, on the road, or in the lab. @RiceBaseball isn’t messing around about player development.

And we have two exhibition scrimmages the 2nd and 3rd weeks of October, but I'm not sure with whom yet.

Kendall/D1Baseball lists us playing Sam Houston State at home on October 8th, and at Houston on October 15th.

A couple tweets from Bostick and Cruz aimed at recruits...

...and Phase 1 "upgrades" (led by the pitching lab) should be in place by early November.

Will there be any baseball activities during Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 29-31)?

Fall Ball starts September 22nd (just before the UT volleyball game in Tudor!) and ends the first week in November. So, I expect you'll see the final couple intrasquads that weekend. There has also been some discussion about having an RBI Club "event" of some sort, but nothing has been finalized yet. The annual RBI Club golfing outing will likely be held late November. Stay tuned.

And as a Rice alumni and part of some of the traditions that he mentioned, Jose Cruz Jr is so credible when he makes the sales pitch for Rice. I am very excited for this season.

Edit: We talk about transformative change and I don't want to get ahead of myself but it feels like what he is doing will be transformative for baseball in the next couple of years.

What are some of the “non-leading” upgrades?

Not at liberty to disclose. The pitching lab has already been made public.
