I like those stadiums. They have a nice built-in feel that ties it to the surrounding area. Not sure why you would need to hide it.

RE: Video of all Sun Belt stadiums
That video board at GSU is big, but half of the usable seats can't even see it. Then you have the weird angle of the former third base seating that has you looking towards the end zone. Add in the unused RF and upper deck seating and it's an odd experience inside the stadium. The Louisiana stadiums seem like they're lost in time. The rest of the league have all stepped up though.

Speaking of weird angles, the press box is in the corner of the endzone behind former home plate. There’s a really funny picture of our radio guys using giant binoculars to call a touchdown that was all the way in the opposite endzone.

Troy has great job with it because there are no exposed berms or grass embankments, and there are two separate upper decks instead of one flowing deck of seating extending from the ground. All embankments have been built in with seating or some structure. The stadium was also built on a gradual slope, so one end of the stadium had no need for embankments.

Before the endzones were enclosed, it didn't look that great:

big yikes. actually made that comment just as the Youtuber went through photos of Ark State and UL stadiums on my screen.

actually thought despite the simple appearance and dug-in concept, Paulson aged better than the previous two. /shrugs.

agreed. Troy's expansion was well done I thought. the neoclassical concept integrated pretty flawlessly. once insde, hard to distinguish the disjointed parts either.

I think Troy and Coastal have done excellent jobs with their expansions in different ways.
TXST and USA have great looking stadiums. one of the bests in the league.
App's expansion looks fine, doesn't look particularly spectacular but doesn't look terrible either.
Southern has a fine stadium but probably somewhere around the middle of the ranking.
Ark State has nice and bad parts. it's weird.
ULM and ULL stadiums didnt age too well i think.

RE: Video of all Sun Belt stadiums
of course, to us city-based urbanites, cant help but be biased to think we have the best skyline scenery in the conference.

only halfway done with renovations, but the places is noticeably improving in places that outsiders will never see. already receiving positive feedbacks from HS recruits. impressionable teenagers are attracted to shiny things like new locker rooms, new gyms, new meeting rooms, new football ops facility, so forth. very tiny glimpses here.

currently the football stadium renovations underwent 2/5 of its phases over last 3 years. AD already received the estimate of $10mil to tear down the unused seats. The plan is there but not a immediate concern. It's one of the last major phases planned as far as I understand, but many years out.
also keep in mind, a lot of resources are currently being allocated to build the new $85mil bball arena to open next year as well.

I’m surprised there aren’t more panoramic views of Centennial Bank Stadium

Seems like the City of Atlanta could have assisted somehow in the demolition of the unused seats.

After all, if GSU wouldn't have purchased Turner Field, it would just be a huge, empty stadium sitting near downtown with no development. They sort of did Atlanta a favor, right?

IIRC the City of Atlanta wanted to turn the area into a mixed use urban retail park that was anchored by a large casino before the Georgia BOR purchased the land

No. BOR only approved the sale. GSU Foundation purchased the property and surrounding lands via a combination of institutional funds and private fundraising.

I really doubt any financial support from the city. They're just glad GSU, Carter, and private corporations are the ones pumping money into the neighborhood.

Cant really complain though. City donated the land for our bball arena, which allowed our budget to stay "only" at $85mil, and not going over +$100mil.

Well this was from y’all’s first season in Turner Field. I would have hoped y’all would have retrofitted some of those unused private suites into a functional press facility by now.

We got a $250M stadium and 70 acres of downtown for $30M.

We Gud

"unused"..? That entire level received a modern retrofit 2 years ago. club level patron access on gamedays. private event spaces for rent on non-game days. the steady corporate revenue is real.

I just want to point out that you're also nitpicking to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to accommodate 1 visiting radio guy for 6 saturdays every year.
and the radio booth isn't even that terrible.
