RE: Nerds vs Dukes Bball
Coach By during the interview after the game brought a sign with him giving props to the pep band: "Best Band in the Land". Said they were there for every game and thanked them.
I liked Coach By already, but this made me like him even more.
This has been a rough year, but we have seen the potential of a Coach By team. Hopefully next year will be a bit more normal and less injuries.

Do we keep scheduling the nerds or will this series go dormant?

I'm all for scheduling any VA D1 team. Frankly, any team less than four hours away should be the primary makeup of our OoC play. We'll be getting plenty of travel within the conference. Though, I might give those CAA teams the opportunity to make the first move.

I'd rather not give any CAA team the time of day.... at least for a long time. It feels like playing them would be letting them off the hook for screwing us over (not just with the postseason ban).
Honestly, WM is the only VA CAA team, so there would be plenty of other options in the state if we needed a close team to play.
I have never felt anything one way or another in regards to WM. I don't hate them, but I don't like them, either. Even if some of the really rough losses we've had with them over the years.
Ex-CAA members GM and VCU would be better to play more regularly.

There are lots of quality OOC programs within a 4 hour drive. Since we seem to be building/trending up, no need to play CAA teams unless they are pay to play and I think we know the chances of that happening are. It may be hard to admit or maybe premature but scheduling for SOS in the next few years shouldn't be discounted.

Coach trying different things in the second half was good to see. He wasn't scared to give up some points to do some experimenting, shows trust in his players. Good mid-major programs usually play good defense, good defense usually requires a deep bench.
