I've read a lot of buck wild things on the internet, but this might take the cake.

NC A&T's AD talked about them going to FBS. They could convince the other four to join them.

NC A&T, Florida A&M and Tennesse State to the A-Sun, and Texas Sountern to the WAC. All four do have the stadium and could raise money easier to go FBS.

If there was a school to join the OVC in football only, my choice would be Youngstown State. Dumping those long trips to the Dakotas in favor of shorter trips to OVC locations is worth a look money-wise.

Unless an entire league is allowed to move from FCS to FBS AND guaranteed to get a proportional slice of the 12 team CFB money commensurate with what the current G5 leagues will get I don’t see anyone moving up as the budgetary disparities between the up-jumped league and the other G5 conferences would be an insurmountable burden to fielding competitive teams. And the current G5 would never agree to cut a new league in on their share of the increased pie.

We had a couple moves.

Georgia State and Georgia Southern joined the MAC in Men's Soccer, and West Virginia will leave the MAC after 2021 and join C-USA in Men's Soccer.

The one sitting out there is MEAC baseball, with only Coppin State, Marylan-Eastern Shore, Delaware State and Norfolk State sponsoring the sport next year.

Doesn’t pretty much everyone but the Big Sky baseball? That’s probably a hard one to find affiliates for.

From what I can tell, the MEAC has 5 active programs:

Coppin St
Delaware St
Maryland - Eastern Shore
Norfolk St
North Carolina Central

The Summit League operated with 5 schools this season (which will go up with St. Thomas and new affiliate Northern Colorado). I don’t know if that required a waiver of some sort.

That being said, maybe the MEAC can survive with 5. If not, looking at the leagues surrounding the MEAC schools, only the AEC looks to be in a position to accept MEAC affiliates for baseball. The AEC could bring in all 5 for a total of 12. If the MEAC needs to sponsor the sport for survival, then I don’t know.

NC Central is ended baseball at the conclusion of the season this year.

There are no affiliates to be had. I know Delaware State talked with the NEC, but were unable to get a deal like Howard did (Howard parked 6 sports in the NEC). I don't know where there are any takers.

Chicago State, in an award winning move for the shoot yourself in the foot category, dropped baseball to save money, then lobbied the MEAC for membership. Supposedly the MEAC countered by offering to take one sport (probably men's golf).
