Sure...

Turn a blind eye to it, if you would like. PM the poster and see what they say. You are smart enough to read through the code. Again, I don't care. That's exactly what he was getting at though. Also keep an eye out in the future. It's there way more often than it should be.

I didn't insinuate anyone is racist. Leave me out of your guys' psychodrama.

There is no part of your post that references race in any way, shape or form. I'm frankly flabbergasted that anyone could read it that well.

I've gone back and read it a few times now, and it's beyond me as well. Interesting that it caused someone to flip out.

I'm racking my mind to think of an alternative interpretation to levydl's original comment. Is it that some posters are known to dislike Tari? That doesn't make any sense to me; hence my original interpretation was that he was saying posters who dislike Tari's Mom are racist. If true, it's fair game, but it's quite an accusation to make openly so I could understand why he said so in an understated way.

Perhaps levydl could share what he meant by that comment in order to alleviate everyone's concern.

I mean there are possible intentions all over the place.

1. Posters that complain about everything.
2. Posters who acted like her twitter account was a big deal and distraction all year.
3. Posters who think Brannen got screwed by UC and the players were babies.

I could keep going. I could be wrong, but some variation of number 3 was the one that to me seemed the most obvious reason the poster said it based on the context of the post. Those posters being more likely to view her as a distraction who undermined Brannen and the program and was a part of the revolt that lead to his firing for cause made sense to me.

There was nothing in there to imply anything about race.

Reading tea leaves to determine if there were any racial undertones to a statement is normally a pretty strong indicator that there wasn’t any.

It really wasn't even that specific. Just not surprised by the insufferable posters like namrag who thought it was better to lose Tari Eason than have to endure his mother's tweets.

FWIW, almost every poster on this board with more than a couple hundred posts has a "style and tone". Just mention Huggs, grad rates, winning at all costs and you can read the comments and pretty accurately predict who said what. You can do the same with Cronin or Kelly or the administration or talk about paying athletes. or the new transfer rules - which is why I don't comment much anymore. It's stopped being mostly about opinions ON SPORTS and has devolved into mostly opinions ON POSTERS like are you with me or agin' me

IMO alot of these "super talents" today come with "distractions" that social media highlights that 20 years ago would never have seen the light of day - dads that want to coach, "handlers and advisors", parents that love twitter or the press. As a P6 or a hopeful P5 staff, administration and fan base if UC can't handle that then we will never be "big time" anything. Times have changed. The quiet, do as your told athletes don't exist anymore. Get over it or get another hobby. The genie is out of the bottle and as much as I might miss the supposed good old days, I think today is 1000% better overall

And BTW, I've read this whole substring and I don't see what all the fuss was ever about. I can't get to racist anywhere in the comment. I think it shows what happens when anyone "interprets" someone else's words instead of just reading them. And I'm guilty as much as anyone so please don't think I'm pointing fingers or calling anyone out... I'm not. Not trying to start a political war of words here but it's interesting how "easily" a supposed racist comment was identified on a sports message board but how easily other words and actions in the real world are overlooked or brushed aside because someone agrees with or disagrees with the speaker. It's a sports board, let's just leave it there and have fun with it.

Let the bashing of me commence 03-wink04-chairshot

Not buying it.

There is nothing in my previous posts to suggest that I didn’t want tari to come back to UC.

Quite the contrary. When Saunders recommitted I posted that it was “nice, but the big prize (tari) was still out there”.

The inference I took is that “certain posters are of course going to not like an outspoken black female.”

And I still think that was the inference.

But I don’t care enough to continue pissing over it.

This is wild, but ok. Reread the Marge Schott thread or the covid thread. Maybe that will refresh yourself on the snowball of suggesting people are racist.

We'll go with multiple posters pulled it out of thin air. Maybe Levydl was actually specifically referring to Tari haters with his 'insufferable posters' comment. I didn't know that was a thing. I doubt it, but ok. Then the guy calls it psychodrama to be dismissive. Classy.

We'll go with we misinterpreted it. I for one will apologize for doing so. At least it's out there to now consider.

I think a lot of the misinterpretation is that it's easier to misinterpret the tone of the written word than the spoken word.

People *read* slights where none were intended a lot more easily than we *hear* unintended slights.

Even Vogt's support of Brannen doesn't paint Brannen in a particularly good light. Brannen should never have been hired in the first place, at least we got rid of him fast.

Vogt's support almost directly implicates him in several of the "for cause" issues.

This is why I tell people not to talk to the cops without a lawyer. Yikes.

LOL I think it was a fairly classy response to being called garbage.

I would like to unsubscribe from your and your buddy's victimhood fantasy.

Like the former coach, this thread needs to go away. My vote is for the Mods to move this thread off the main board. It's run its course.

One easy solution to all of this:

Get rid of Twitter, or stop looking at it. I have an account that I look at maybe 3 times a year.

The funniest part is that you didn't even quote him in the original statement that blew all of this up. So the guy that had nothing in his previous posts to suggest he didn't want Tari back just replied out of the blue to one of your posts calling you garbage due to his belief that you were calling him racist.

Yep, I only use it to follow Cincinnati recruiting and in the press box on Fridays during the quarter/halftime delay to check other scores from the area.
