It’s game 4 and Brogdon hadn’t pitched yet this weekend???

That's not a reason to yank Garcia, who was pitching well (albeit not overpowering by any means). If Brogdon was healthy why the heck did he not start the 2nd game yesterday?

My response was sarcasm just like your question was rhetorical. Unless there was an injury to Roel that we don’t know about, there was no logical reason to make a change at that point.

Meanwhile Brogdon throws 87 pitches and gives up 7 runs (6 earned) on 10 hits and 3 walks.

Just as the UTSA announcer is astounded with how many walks and hit batters our starting pitcher (Linskey) has, Linskey hits the 'Runners' leadoff batter and walks the next two ... the second after a mound visit!

The leadoff batter has now been hit more times (7) than he's gotten base hits (6).

Zaskoda is up in the Rice bullpen.

And the 4th batter is hit!! "He gets an RBI bruise."

"UTSA hasn't made contact with a pitch yet. They haven't even fouled off a pitch. They haven't had to."

Pitching change.

Absolutely astounding

3-run homer makes it 7-4, one out in T8.

Yay!!!

But 2 flyouts end the inning.

Hold 'em ... then complete the comeback??

OK ... Never mind.

UTSA scores 5 in B8 ... 4 after 2 were out. Sigh.

12-4, UTSA ... after 8.

Garcia did "pitch" on Friday in the sense he had warmed up fully to start before the lightning delays. He might have been on a lower pitch count today.

Another questionable move by Bragga. Why start Roel when radar clearly showed weather was going to move in about 30 minutes after 1st pitch?

How was Bragga supposed to know that rain was coming or a threat? It’s not like that information is easily available.

Check out Tomball Owl's post some 3 hours before Friday's game:

That radar feed is not classified information. Someone with game management responsibilities should have know about it ... been following it ... and advising Bragga of its implications.

And, as I pointed out in the game thread, Hallmark held back his ace and instead started a guy with a 7.50 ERA. Our pitching is certainly not very good, but the woeful mismanagement of the staff all year long is a big reason we're in the mess we're in.

Correct! Your post was #11 in the thread:

Sorry- my sarcasm font wasn’t turned on. Of course Bragga could and should have known that.

I think that was more sarcasm from bigowlsfan.
