One of the 5-person "Mt. Rushmore" of Old Dominion Womens Basketball, IMO. (Along with Nancy, Anne, Inge, and Ticha)

News about Medina Dixon's passing probably deserves its own thread and not to be buried in this season's WBB topic. What a legend. Fans of ODU that saw her play will surely miss her.

That's sad. I have heard of several that have died from that recently.

Got back from the game. We came out of the locker room ready to play in 3rd quarter. Iggy and Ajah both had solid games. First half we shot 1-10 from 3 and got killed on the boards, but turned that around. Nice seeing Coach Darnell Dozier from PA, with his squad at the game.

Hope that means he’ll feel better about helping lead some his better players to ODU. Of course there were a couple of former PA players (Brianne Jackson for ODU, Wiggins for Auburn) on the floor Sunday afternoon.

I hope so! Hope the local players see it as well and realize they can play on the BIG stage right in their backyard. Gotta stink to be one of those local players who goes away only to come back, play ODU, and get whooped!

And it's one of the few games your family gets to see you play.

Yes. My question are the Lady Monarchs going to make another shot. ODU down 23 to 38 against GW.

This was a terrible game from ODU’s standpoint. They came out like gangbusters and ended the game with a flurry. The 2nd quarter and half of the 3rd were worthless - poor shot selection, poor rebounding, poor defense. But come back they did. From 16 down midway through the 3rd to take a 1 point lead with less than a minute to go. Only problem was that GW hit a 3 with 10 seconds to go. But because of nerves, indecision or fate, ODU’s last second shot did not go in. A putback was ruled after the buzzer, so no tie.
