WBB 2021-22 - ziggy1 - 03-27-2021 10:12 PM

With the departure of Lanay Wheaton and Asha Thompson, I checked and noticed, with the exception of incoming freshmen, the roster for 2021-22 is already up, and Marie Reichert is not listed as coming back but happy to see Victoria Morris and Maggie Robinson taking advantage of the extra year allowed by staying. With such roster plus incoming freshmen, I expect the ladies to be very competitive and predict they stand a good chance of winning the conference. Happy Times Coming!

DaBigBlue - Thanks for your post. Appears Mackenzie Smith must've just hit the Portal and caught ODU by surprise. She's still listed on the roster.
Another very interesting CUSA WBB news is that the Hayes sisters are also looking to transfer. They are listed on the Transfer portal from Middle Tennessee. Didn't see that one coming.

They could find a home at ODU. Sorry to hear the freshmen transfers, but with Vicki and Maggie coming back, they likely would not get much playing time again. I really liked both and was curious why they didn’t get more playing time during season. Not much development from the bench and recruits are aware that freshmen sit and not play. Incoming freshmen want to see the court and develop.

Unfortunately, Victoria Morris has entered the transfer portal!

Anyone know what happened at SU to cause 9 of them to transfer?

RE: WBB 2021-22 - NC ODUFan - 04-10-2021 12:52 PM

Just read where MTSU's two leading scorers, both All C-USA , just transferred to: Mississippi State and Nikki McCray.

All three Hayes sisters actually, (Anastasia, Aislynn, & Alasia). Interestingly, their youngest sister, Acacia, has Mississippi State in her final 8 schools. Quite a revolution if you asked me, not sure this has ever happened anywhere, even if Acacia chooses to go somewhere else. Hope it works out for Nikki.

Yes, all true. I guess my point was that ODU is not the only C-USA school with transfer issues with some of their key players.

RE: WBB 2021-22 - Williamg - 04-11-2021 05:37 PM

I wish her all the best but I believe the Miami transfer holds out a great deal of promise. I would love to see Xaria Wiggins come home and another three or four star forward or post through the transfer route come to ODU WBB. I am a bit skeptical of actually seeing Balugon take the the floor after two years of suspended expectations. I am very surprised regarding the naysayers related to Milton-Jones’ performance in her initial year. I thought she did rather well given the circumstances and has continued to do well attracting good talent in the transfer market. Let us see if she continues and I thought the team really rallied at the end almost beyond anybody’s expectations. I remain optimistic.

Her coach went to Washington. Will be interested to see if she follows.
