Always find it interesting when you call a team bad that you just lost to. Just makes you look even worse. All the reason more Memphis shouldn't be ranked ahead of us.

To be fair Temple got obliterated by Rutgers and beat soundly by Boston College. Memphis beat Mississippi State, controversial as it may be. Memphis has the better overall resume despite losing to Temple.

I agree that based on body of work. Temple however was missing Mathis for the BC game after he got hurt early in the Rutgers game. With Mathis, Temple probably beats BC IMO. There is a gigantic drop off after Mathis on the Temple QB depth chart.

Memphis' better resume also has a loss to Temple on it. Memphis' resume has a win over Miss State. Temple's resume has a win over Memphis. It's all meaningless, but it's just silly to me.

I wouldn’t use the word “silly” for this game

This is how I see it... Temple flat out beat a team that was better than them coming in to this game so I’ll place Temple as the better team over Memphis now.

This is how I see it... Temple flat out beat a team that was better than them coming in to this game so I’ll place Temple as the better team over Memphis now.

That's kinda what I'm saying. It wasn't like we won on some fluke hailmary, or Memphis' entire starting lineup was out of the game injured by halftime. We also outperformed was was a better regarded offense. Are we ultimately better by the end of the season? Who knows, but H2H, I'm not sure how you can put them ahead of us at this moment.

I'm not sold that the Pirates are the 4th or 5th best team in the conference. If they win this weekend then maybe. They looked like world beaters against Tulane and one quarter against Marshall, the rest of their games looked like poo.

Hopefully they're trending in the right direction.

This. Nothing between 0-2 more wins this season would surprise me. 3 would surprise me. 4+ and I'd have to start on my bronzed Mike Houston statue.

I guess my ranking more or less speaks to how close all of those teams are, not necessarily that there is any team throughout that group that has separated as a clear "better team". There will be a lot of wins and losses between teams in that group moving forward.

I don't really either, but the team has talent but is crazy young. Looking like world beaters for a little while and stinky stinky poo poo is what a talented but young team does. If we can continue to grow I think there's a real chance to be actually good next year, and a path to even being pretty good this year.
