Correct. We were down to our 5th QB, city Covid rules prohibited practice up till the very start of game 1. Carey has done OK in the transfer portal. If the kid from Georgia can perform like a 4 star, then all is not bleak. We will have to score a lot of points as i think defense will suffer.
Besides, Temple doesn't fire coaches. It lets them run out their contracts.
Sorry fellas but I read a lot of excuses and if this if thats. I cannot remember getting blown out by any team after Rhules first year, Carey has been demolished by Buffalo, UCF twice, SMU twice, Tulane, ECU. Not just losses, blowout embarrassing losses. I don’t see Carey as a coach who will get us to the top of the conference. I hope I’m wrong and we go 9-3 instead of 3-9 I just don’t see it. As for firing HCs, Temple has an interim president and interim AD so no moves can be made until that gets straightened out. But my fear is that Carey will get to the end of his contract and will have made Temple the new UConn in football.
ok, you could also just end up being wrong.
Yes, and I hope I am, and I hope we go 14-0. And its a prediction of the future so of course I could be wrong. My comments are about future events based on past events (which I am not wrong about) and IMHO I don't believe Carey has what it takes. As the premise of the OP is coaches on the hot seat I think Carey belongs there.
I hope the Owls go 14-0, too, but not only is he on the "hot seat" - - he's probably going to be gone when his contract runs out if he can't turn things around quickly.
One of his biggest failings stemmed from his failure to share the job of OC with his former Co-OC, rather than hiring a competent, experienced, full-fledged Offensive Coordinator. After a season or two, it should have been clear that he needed one, but he still hasn't figured it out.

If Luke Fickell and UC win the national title, Bill Dazzle, to celebrate, will ride a children's tricycle along Lower Broadway in downtown Nashville — nude but for a top hat and white gloves — and with the phrase "Fear the Binturongs" painted in red and black on his man bottom.
Saw a video of Elvis Costello performing with Larkin Poe - very cool!

Great to hear, Jed. EC is a fan of LPoe. They have played (at least once) at the Ryman Auditorium here in Nashville.
Glad you enjoy the music of the Lovell ladies!

Not talking basketball??? I don't care.
That seat burned to ash, has been swept up and mixed with clay to be baked into a memorial brick to sit on the mantle in the living room.

Edit: read the article. I believe they are incorrect regarding Careys buyout. Yes, any team that would hire him away would have to pay big, however we can fire him for much less. So its not true that we cannot afford to fire him; we simply cannot afford to not fire him. If as I’ve predicted we are a 3-9 team this year, we will have lost most of the hard fought for momentum of the past 20 years. Recruiting and attendance will nose dive. Carey has to go.
Ridiculous

^^^ Agree ^^^^
Temple cannot act like the Northeast University that it is... Must show passion for athletics to attract good coaches and good student athletes...
