Yes. You eliminate gov't handouts and you give that person a job.

Federal Trash Clean Up crew. I'm cool with that at current minimum wage.

Do good work and you can become supervisor and earn a low/middle income salary with great benefits. Sounds like modern day version of mailmen/mailwomen/mailidkwhatyouare to me.

Unfortunately the gov't sucks at running all types of businesses if you haven't noticed.

We back to the "shovel ready jobs" farce?

Just what the people voted for in '16, 4 more failed years of zerO... 07-coffee3

Why is it automatically assumed that "public works" means any idiot can do the work?

If it is a mandated job.
What happens when people noshow, show up late, don't actually work during their work hours, etc.
They can't be fired.
Bad idea.

RE: Should the government guarantee everyone a job?
Funny the village idiot suggest this since the former USSR constitution guaranteed there would be a job for everyone. Of course we know what happened when that job didn’t suit the employed comrade. Bullet to the back of the head.
Liberals erase history so the commies can repeat it. What idiots.

......maybe they don’t get their government freebies..

I know it will never happen (I mean name something the government does efficiently), but I’ve always believed that if you want certain behaviors - have the rules set up to promote those behaviors.

Force the lazy into at least showing up or they get no goodies. But honestly, I’m not sure what to do with those that refuse......

Yes...but..only those that cant find a job in the private sector.
So..I see a lot of mofos that need to get sacks and be ready to pick up the trash and get a shovel and pile of asphalt repair and fix potholes on the roads. That is about the skill level of most of the normally unemployed and Im more than happy to see my tax dollars go to this.

Businesses would thrive and more people would be employed increasing the tax base.

Gee, that sounds familiar, when have we seen that in action before? Hmmm...

No way they'd be cut off from their "living" wage and benefits. That would be called mean by the Left. And the "workers" would know it.

How about a large-scale infrastructure program that offers jobs that improve America's roads, bridges, rails, etc?

A job implies work. People have positions with the government.

And to answer the question, NO!
