Women’s NIT
Just was bouncing around on the internet and see that the NCAA has announced that Rockford will be a host site for the Women’s NIT.
Seems like eight of the 32 invited teams will go there to play and it appears to be at UW Sports Factory...whatever that is and not the MetroCentre (or whatever it is called now).
Not sure if it is fit for the ladies but would be cool option if the don’t win the conference tourney.
Seems odd because it looks like a town gym or field house and not a stadium.
Anyone have any inside info? NIU connected at all?

RE: Women’s NIT
The NIT is a 32-team tournament. Rockford is one of four regional sites (8 teams). The other locations are Fort Worth, Memphis and Charlotte, N.C. The video on this link gives some good info, including about a court being moved to the Sports Factory for the tourney.

From the video, if you can't watch: one of the four regional sites will be chosen for the NIT final four ... teams will be announced March 15 right after the NCAA tourney field ... Rockford will allow some fans to attend.
