What a game for Eason. When he doesn't foul and stays on the floor he can really do great stuff.

Incredible run by the young guys! It was a great example of team basketball too; 23 assists on 33 FG is crazy good a day after losing your starting PG. We aren’t exactly knocking off top competition, but 6-1 since the return and the core of young guys playing well to end the season will be a selling point for a loaded transfer market.

Does anyone know what our postseason prospects look like? Are they having a CBI? Do we have a chance at the NIT?

I think we're still a ways off from being an NIT team. They are only taking 16 this year, and we're still sub-100 in NET. That said, I'm sure there will be plenty of opt-outs, and if the guys want to continue playing and getting better, maybe we get invited and play. That said, I won't hold anything against the team at all if they skip a non-NCAA postseason tournament.

RE: Game Thread: Tulane at Cincinnati
Missed watching the game, but had a good time listening to Dan and Terry on WLW.

Sounded like the offense is coming around (still too many unforced turnovers).

Defense sounded like it was a little bit ad hoc, with the missing players, which might explain the use of the basic zones so much. And I think the 1-3-1 is the only zone Diarra plays well in.

Fun to hear the offense go off with Williams, Vogt and Diarra on the bench. Full steam ahead, young men!

Hopefully those young legs can handle three games in five days. Those guys are all getting a lot of minutes.

That's two freshmen starting to figure things out and develop chemistry. I love it.

Someone mentioned earlier that Mason's handles are underrated. Didn't he play point guard in high school? I think many of us (myself included as a white guy) see someone like him and just assume he's your typical unathletic, three-point shooting specialist. I don't think he's necessarily a natural point guard at this level, but I have no doubt he can run a fast break and run the point in spots, a la MAW. He's more than just a shooter. He's got high basketball IQ, good court vision, good handles, a smooth jumper, and while I wouldn't call him a high-level D1 basketball athlete, he's got enough quickness and shiftiness to make up for it. Someone earlier mentioned Sean Kilpatrick. Obviously we would all be elated if Mason ends up being half the player SK was, but I don't think it's that far off as a comparison.

I've mentioned it before, but while he gives good effort on defense and his help defense looks solid, he gets abused on the drive against quicker players. He's got to learn to use spacing and angles to his advantage. Once he does, he will be a good (not elite) defender. I think he can be as good of a defender as SK or Caupain, which is plenty good enough when paired with his offensive skills.

Totally missed that we had a game today. Looks like I missed one of the best of the year. JD and Eason...love it.

If my calculations are correct, win out the next three games and we finish 3rd in league.

I believe the top three are legit. SMU hasn’t played in a month so who knows. The rest aren’t bad but are not good either. Honestly the sample size is small, the schedules are not balanced, and teams go on pause for a long time. It’s a very hard year to figure out how good someone really is because the season hasn’t been normal.

I was watching somewhere without sound and somehow missed what happened during this segment. Hilariously incompetent officiating.

I thought that that seemed really quick at the game.

That’s pretty inexcusable

The officiating has been pretty bad all year, but yesterday was a whole new level. The game started with a ridiculous foul called on Vogt where he was tackled, and then they preceded to call a foul every time a Tulane player drove wildly to the basket.
